Urbana is a residential sub-community in Emaar South (a sub-community of Dubai South). It is further divided into three gated residential clusters: Urbana I, Urbana II and Urbana III. It features modern 2- and 3-bedroom tiered townhouses nestled within beautifully landscaped gardens and lush green walkways. Each cluster boasts its community park and a range of shared amenities, while also benefiting from the extensive facilities of the master development, Emaar South. This includes access to an 18-hole golf course, retail centres, a hotel and educational institutions.
Urbana is a green close-knit sub-community of Emaar South. Each residential cluster of Urbana provides gated security along with a community park and recreational centre. Furthermore, each cluster boasts a play area for kids, a community swimming pool and a sikka.

Since Emaar South is still developing, means of public transportation near Urbana are fairly limited at the moment. The Emaar South Entrance Bus Stop, served by Bus F55, is the sole bus station in Emaar South. Fortunately, Urbana is conveniently situated near the main entrance, offering residents easy access by foot.
Also, Dubai taxi booking is available through the S’hail app. Other modes of travelling in Dubai, such as Dubai Metro and buses are rather a bit away.
As Emaar South is still under development, only one of the two planned retail centres has been completed and opened: Emaar South Village. This community retail centre features a large outlet of Geant Express, which caters to all grocery and household needs of people living in the area. Located near the entrance of Emaar South, it is just a short walk from any part of Urbana.
Several mosques are planned for the Emaar South community, with at least two expected to be within walking distance of Urbana. However, as of now, no mosque has been completed. For the time being, residents will need to drive approximately 7 minutes to the EFTA Mosque to attend congregational prayers.
To visit churches, temples and gurudwaras, residents can travel to Jebel Ali Village, approximately a half-hour drive away. There, they will find several places of worship including St. Francis of Assisi Church and Mor Ignatius Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Cathedral. The area also hosts a grand Hindu temple and the Guru Nanak Darbar, the largest Sikh temple in the Gulf Region, which welcomes visitors of all backgrounds for tourism.

Dubai Festival Plaza has more than 120 shopping stores and covers an area of 648,000 sq. ft. Operating under the Al Futtaim Group, Dubai Festival Plaza has up to 40 restaurants and cafes too. The urban lifestyle mall is the second ‘festival’ themed mall in the city.
Ibn Battuta is one of the world’s largest themed malls, with an area of 521,000 sq. m. It is made up of six zones including Tunisia, Persia, Egypt, China, India and Andalusia and houses a total of 500 shops, eateries and leisure spots. The mall is named after the renowned explorer and scholar Ibn Battuta and welcomes around 20 million visitors annually, making it one of Dubai’s best malls.

The closest beach near Urbana is Jebel Ali Beach and it requires a drive of around 23 minutes to reach. It is an open beach with limited developments and facilities. Nevertheless, it is a quick retreat for residents living in the nearby areas.
You can access more public beaches in Dubai, by driving up to 30 minutes. JBR Beach or The Beach, JBR is a lively beach with tons of activities. As the name suggests, it is located opposite Jumeirah Beach Residence. Besides revelling in the seawaters, you can shop from the nearby retail outlets, dine in the nearby eateries and watch a movie at Roxy Cinemas too.
The beach is adorned with sea loungers and has many camels, which you can ride. Other water sports available here are wakeboarding, parasailing and banana boat rides for the kids. You can also enjoy spectacular views of the Ain Dubai Ferris Wheel in Bluewaters Island Meraas from JBR Beach.

You can reach Dubai Parks and Resorts in 18 minutes. It has been developed by Meraas and consists of some theme parks, a hotel and a promenade. The theme parks in Dubai Parks and Resorts are Motiongate Dubai and Legoland. Motiongate Dubai is a cinematic paradise whereas Legoland and Legoland Waterpark, feature several rides and attractions, based on the Lego theme. The promenade namely Riverland has four zones with more than 50 restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues.
Jebel Ali Golf Resort is 21 minutes away. Also known as JA Beach Resort, Jebel Ali Golf Resort consists of a 9-hole, par championship standard golf course. Another highlight of this resort is the David Leadbetter Golf Academy Dubai for learning golf. Other attractions in Jebel Ali Golf Resort include spas, salons, a shooting club, an equestrian centre and many eateries.
Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club lies at a 25-minute drive on the Dubai – Abu Dhabi Border. Covering 300 hectares of green grassland in Ghantoot, the club has stables with more than 300 ponies. It also has a seater grandstand that can accommodate up to 2000 spectators.
