Meydan City, simply known as Meydan, extends alongside Ras Al Khor Road and Dubai – Al Ain Road. Newly established, Meydan City was launched in the year 2007 at the eve of the Dubai World Cup with remarkable projects on board. These projects included hotels and resorts, a sky bubble restaurant, entertainment clubs, a concourse plaza, skyscrapers and a boat house. It is a 5-star staycation closer to the racetrack and thus, generally preferred by those coming in to participate or witness the big game. The city’s infrastructure is well thought out with an extensive network of roads and bridges connecting the sub-communities. RTA Dubai (Roads and Transportation Authority) has recently opened three large bridges providing access to the Racecourse. The plan of building a tramline is in the pipeline, it is supposed to run from Meydan City to Meydan Racecourse and hold a capacity of 10,000 people. An initiative is taken to run mobile grocery bus (Mobimart) that will stop at Emirates Pilot Village. West Zone Fresh Supermarket is also a go-to mart for fresh fruits and vegetables while LuLu Express in Al Quoz, 10 minutes away, is preferred for most of the grocery items.

Mixed-cultural communities populate most areas of Dubai; therefore, special attention is given to this factor while establishing a housing project. Like any other area in Dubai, Meydan City also has mosques at short distances from the residences. There are community mosques, however, Nad Al Sheba Great Mosque and Masjid E Ibad Ur Rehman are favoured for big gatherings.

There aren’t any temples in Meydan City currently, but the famous Guru Nanak Darbar, a Sikh temple is reachable within 25 minutes via Sheikh Zayed Road.

There aren’t many schools within the communities as of now, but there are plenty of choices nearby. Jumeirah International Nursery on Al Abraj Street and Safa British School are some of the choices based on international standards. GEMS Jumeirah Primary School is a high-reputed option, it offers the British curriculum until Year 6.  Hummingbird Nursery, Hartland International School and Latifa School for Girls are some more options located at a 10-minute radius from Meydan City.

Since the town is continuously developing, hospitals and pharmacies are not yet established. Medicare and Emirates Hospital currently are the two most preferred hospitals near Meydan City.

The community is bordered by many residential locations including Bur Dubai, Al Barari, Al Quoz, Dubailand, and Old Town. Mohammad Bin Rashid City (MBR), also established by the same developer, is nearby comprising of similar residential communities and projects.

Meydan One Mall, one of the top malls in Dubai is being built in the vicinity of Meydan. Known for housing the largest dancing fountain in the world, this will be much more than just a shoppers’ paradise. The biggest horse racing season is held at Meydan Racecourse that hosts Dubai World Cup every year.
