The area was formerly known as Bain Al Jessrain, meaning ‘between two bridges’ in English. It is located in between Mussafah Bridge and Al Maqta Bridge.

Other nearby supermarkets include Spinneys and Castlerock Supermarket in Sas Al Nakhl Village.

A few churches in Al Maqtaa Abu Dhabi are located at a short distance. Within an 8-minute drive, one can reach The Armenian Church Of Abu Dhabi, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Abu Dhabi Assembly Of God Church and more. These are closely dotted in the neighbouring area of Mussafah.

Experts in women and children healthcare issues, Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children is just 4 minutes away in the neighbouring Abu Dhabi Gate City community.

Al Maqtaa Abu Dhabi is a bridge away from central Abu Dhabi, it is closely connected with popular areas such as Zayed Sports City which lies on the west of Al Maqta area Abu Dhabi.

On the south, it shares borders with Abu Dhabi Gate City and further down you can find the neighbourhood of Mussafah. Located towards the east of Al Maqtaa are Sas Al Nakhl Village, Al Raha Golf Gardens and Khalifa City A.
