Yellow Kite Nursery Curriculum

At Yellow Kite Nursery, the curriculum blends several innovative approaches to create a rich learning environment:

The Curiosity Approach

The Curiosity Approach is a contemporary teaching philosophy that centres on play, nature and the child's interests. It places the child at the heart of the learning process, encouraging exploration and discovery through engaging activities. This approach is brought to life at Yellow Kite Nursery with special areas called Curiosity Corners, filled with intriguing items, art supplies and comfortable spaces for quiet time.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum

The UK-based framework supports children’s development from birth to 5 years through these seven areas:

  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

Green Engagement

The nursery promotes sustainability through recycling and eco-activities, teaching children about environmental responsibility.

Hygge in the Early Years

Inspired by the Danish idea of Hygge, which focuses on finding joy and comfort in simple, everyday moments, Yellow Kite Nursery creates cosy spaces where children can relax and explore. This approach helps children feel secure and excited about learning.

Arabic Language and Education

Daily Arabic and French lessons are given to children using interactive, multi-sensory methods, making language learning fun and engaging.

Forest School

The Forest School, set in a 25,000 sq. ft. garden, promotes outdoor exploration and child-led learning. Features like a pretend fire pit and seasonal activities help children connect with nature and support their overall development.

Together, these elements create a dynamic and nurturing environment where children can explore, learn and grow in a supportive and engaging setting.
