In the kindergarten stage, Bhavans WISE Indian Academy follows a non-formal approach of the team. The aim is to develop and fine-tune the fundamental skills necessary for subsequent phases of education. For this purpose, the academy follows the renowned Montessori approach of teaching. Students learn through various play and fun activities that are cross-curricular and interactive. Students often take part in outdoor activities that stimulate their brains to the outdoor environment. All this helps them in understanding how the world operates around them. At the end of Kindergarten 2 (KG2), students have the necessary foundational skills to advance to the primary stage.
In the primary stage, the school introduces students to a more formal teaching method based on the structured approach of the CBSE curriculum. It gradually increases the difficulty as students advance to the next grade. The school uses an integrated and interlinked curriculum with theoretical and practical lessons. Cross-curricular links are established to develop students’ concepts in core subjects. The academy also focuses on the holistic development of students by connecting the outside school with real-life situations. The school achieves this through the extra-curricular programme and field trips. Students clearing Grade 5 enter the next phase of education.
This is one of the important educational phases in the life of a student. The academy uses the foundational skills built in the previous stages to prepare students for external boards examinations. The school continues to follow the CBSE curriculum as prescribed by the National Council of Education and Research Training (NCERT). The school introduces more opportunities for students to balance out their academic and non-academic aspects of school life. Foreign languages are included, and a platform is provided to students for the development of an individual’s potential and capacity.
At this stage, teachers act as co-learners and follow a pragmatic approach to ignite students’ desire to learn and excel. Successful students then enter the last educational phase of WISE Indian Academy.
In the senior secondary stage, the school continues to adopt the CBSE curriculum as per the instructions of NCERT. A holistic educational experience is provided in this stage, where students have to choose a career path. The options available to students are science and commerce.
