Premium campus facilities include a theatre, a cafeteria, a library and a comfortable space for learning. Students also enjoy different sports facilities such as a semi-Olympic swimming pool, an indoor basketball court, a tennis court and an Olympic soccer field.

Kindergarten section is designed keeping the needs of children aged 3 to 5 years in mind. KG section has a separate swimming pool in addition to a multipurpose indoor court, play areas and a car track.

The International School of Choueifat Umm Al Quwain Curriculum

ISC – UAQ implements SABIS Education System curriculum. It prepares students for a wide range of external examinations including US Advanced Placement Exams, TOEFL, SAT, IGCSE and AS/A Level Exams. The school also works to prepare the student for a high school diploma.

Ensuring the delicate balance between academic and life skills development, the SABIS® Educational System transforms students into well-rounded individuals with strong leadership potential. Young learners are well-aware of their traditional values and the modern challenges of the 21st century.

From Grade 1 onwards, courses taught at ISC – UAQ have a specified number of “units of information” that students must learn. This number includes concepts tested by the AMS, Basic Questions and extended material for more able students.

Regular assessment and accountability is a key feature of the school. Teachers ensure that kids learn in class and have enough time to relax after school timings. The computerised academic tracking system – SABIS® AMS is used to identify gaps in knowledge and follow each student’s progress.

Academic Calendar fo The International School of Choueifat Umm Al Quwain

Term 1 at the Choueifat UAQ begins on 2nd September. Final exams are scheduled from 20th to 28th November. Term 2 starts from 14th December, and then students go on winter holidays from 15th December to 2nd January. The final examinations for Term 2 are conducted from 4th March to 12th March. Term 3 starts from 26th March while students go on spring holidays from 29th March to 9th April. The final examination lasts from 17th June to 25th June. 25th June is also the last day of the academic year.

Admission and Fees

How To Apply to The International School of Choueifat Umm Al Quwain?

Interested applicants can send a request to the school for admission. The school emphasis on academic attainment for admission rather than age. Hence, any student who is keen to learn is welcome in the school. As directed by UAE authorities, parents cannot visit the school as a precaution against the pandemic. Therefore, the school has made the admission process and payment procedure online for parents’ convenience.

There is no deadline for admission process but parents are suggested to submit the application form early. The application is accepted as soon as the seat becomes available. Parents have to pay a joining fee and administrative cost to initiate the admission process.

  • Kindergarten applicants have to appear for an interview. They must be toilet trained and must be able to understand simple instructions.
  • Applicants for other grades are required to take a diagnostic test in core subjects. The test defines if the student can match the minimum standard of each subject.
  • Students applying for KG-1 to Grade 2 must sit for an online interview through video conference.
  • Students applying for Grade 3 and above are asked to sit for an online diagnostic test.
  • The school makes the final decision regarding different approaches for bringing the student to the required level. For instance, there is an option of summer school or extra classes. Academic support is taken very seriously at the school.

Parent are requested to submit a few mandatory documents along with online application form:

  • Passports copies of student and parents
  • Valid residency copies of student and parents
  • Passport size photographs of the student on white background
  • Copy of valid UAE ID cards of parents and student
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Copy of immunisation record
  • Recent school report from the previous school

Field Trips from ICS Umm Al Quwain

ISC-Umm Al Quwain students are taken on age-appropriate field trips. Senior students were taken to Motiongate Dubai while junior students enjoyed their journey to the amusement park.

Medical Care at The International School of Choueifat Umm Al Quwain

Nurses at ISC-Umm Al Quwain take care of students’ medical needs during school hours. If a student needs any medicine, it should be handed over to the school nurse in the morning with a parents’ letter stating the student’s name, class, time and the required dose.
