Like other SABIS Network schools, ISC Khalifa City is a non-selective and independent school that focuses on academic excellence. Students belonging to different backgrounds and nationalities study in a nurturing multicultural environment and learn to respect other cultures. The school adds more value to students’ progress and enables them to perform to their best abilities.
International School of Choueifat Khalifa City strives to develop students’ academic competencies, interpersonal skills and modern learning techniques. All courses are structured to facilitate students’ learning as per the modern syllabus.
Students who fall behind the academic criteria are facilitated with Special Academic Support. These special lessons or full special classes, however, have extra charges. But they help kids attain the expected academic results. Students who receive full special classes sometimes do the work of two or more scholastic years in one year.
ISC Khalifa City students are encouraged to become members of the SABIS Students Life Organization (SLO). This student organisation collaborates with the staff and school management to raise academic standards, promote high social and moral values and develop students’ confidence and personality. The administration appoints SLO members for their competence.
A special feature of ICS-Khalifa City is its approach to gifted and talented students and those need extra support with the curriculum. The school’s Independent Learning System (ILS) is used to address specific concerns such students might have. Not to mention, the computerized academic tracking system – SABIS® AMS is used to identify gaps in knowledge and follow each student’s progress.
ICS-Khalifa City offers classes from KG1 to Grade 12. From Grade 1 onwards, courses taught at ISC-Khalifa City have a specified number of “units of information” that students must learn. This number includes concepts tested by the AMS, Basic Questions and extended material for more able students.
Being a member of the SABIS group, the school follows the tried and tested SABIS Curriculum that focuses on major subjects, including English, Science, Maths and World Languages (including the required Arabic A, B and French). Students also study Business Studies, Physical Education, Art, Music and ICT. In September 2018, SABIS introduced a new modular stream Robotics course for students aged 11 to 14 years.
