Health and Safety Measures

Rays of Light Nursery health and safety procedures aim to provide the safest environment for your children and make them feel at home. The nursery has implemented several policies to ensure no harm to the children. Daily risk assessment is conducted inside and outside the campus and any safety deficit is reported to the administration.

There is a dedicated outdoor play area for toddlers with age-appropriate equipment. Also, children are under constant supervision whenever they are outdoors to minimise physical injuries. While children are free to explore their surroundings, they are constantly reminded not to run fast, handle rails on the stairs, take turns and respect others like themselves (no biting, pushing, hurting, mocking and much more).

Furthermore, parents are notified either at the pick-up time or called immediately if their child is unwell or found unfit by the nurse or doctor at the school. In an emergency, an ambulance may be called to transfer the child to a hospital while every attempt will be made to inform them.

Routine health assessments are also conducted by the school doctor, who visits once a week. Parents are notified of abnormal findings or needs for referral by the nurse. Similarly, the nursery has a strict medication policy. Only those medications the doctor allows can be administered in exceptional cases where a medical prescription and a written request by the parents shall be considered.

The nursery has a record of what your child consumes during nursery hours. The preschool offers breakfast, snacks for nursery and Pre-KG classes, and only snacks for KG 1 and KG 2. If you send your child with homemade lunch, please ensure that you send healthy and nutritious food. Avoid sending crisps, fizzy drinks, sweets, chocolates, or other junk food.
