Curriculum at Hummingbird Early Learning Centre

Hummingbird Early Learning Centre’s curriculum is based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The nursery offers a nurturing and comfortable environment, where exploration and investigation of the world is encouraged through play.

Hummingbird offers various sensory exploration opportunities at their campuses, including mirrors, treasure baskets, and soft plush toys. The baby classes incorporate playful interactions like songs and rhymes, as well as physical experiences such as bouncing, rolling, rocking, and splashing, both indoors and outdoors.

Hummingbird Early Learning Centre DAFZ, DIFC and Al Reem Island foster the development of language and communication skills by encouraging children to engage in conversations with their peers and teachers, sharing their observations, thoughts, and emotions. Children expand their vocabulary through storytelling, nursery rhymes, and singing songs.

During the FS1 phase, the curriculum focuses on promoting Language, Personal, and Social Development through four key areas of learning: Mathematics, Literacy, Knowledge of the World, and Expressive Arts. Teachers further plan activities based on the children's interests, which not only support their learning but also nourish independence and self-confidence.

Hummingbird also arranges parent-teacher meetings during the academic year so parents remain updated about how their child is doing in their initial years.
