Home Grown Children’s Eco Nursery, also known as Home Grown Nursery, is a British curriculum nursery established in 2011. Initially, the nursery started its first campus in Umm Suqeim. Today, the nursery has another campus located in Al Safa. 

Home Grown Children’s Eco Nursery is the first green-thinking nursery that conceptualised nature and early childhood education to conceptualise. It follows the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) education framework. The nursery carefully integrates the warmth of nurture and harmony of nature with traditional teaching methods. Home Grown Children’s Eco Nursery opened its branch in a one-storey villa on Sanbook Street in Umm Suqeim, Dubai. The spacious campus of Home Grown Children’s Eco Nursery, Umm Suqeim has many facilities to keep children busy and active. Most facilities at the campus are natural, and the nursery has only used man-made materials and facilities to construct classrooms and other indoor facilities. The outdoor space at this branch is divided into wide open areas, a natural trail, wooden playing equipment, a sand pit and a large vegetable area. Behind the garden area lies an outdoor classroom with resources like wooden tools and equipment.

The villa's ground floor has classrooms for children aged one to two years old. The upper story has classrooms and other indoor facilities for older children. Other key facilities include an imagination and play area, a well-equipped gymnasium and a library.

Al Safa Branch

The nursery has also established a campus with a similar theme in Al Safa. The facilities at this campus are new and in excellent condition. Health and Safety Measures at Home Grown Children’s Eco Nursery

For Home Grown Children’s Eco Nursery, Health and Safety come first. The nursery has taken several initiatives to minimise hazards for children, teachers and parents at the campus.

Children are supervised at all times by our experienced and professional teaching staff and faculty. A member of the nursery is always present at the door when a child arrives or leaves at any of its campuses. Electric circuits and boards are safely secured and guarded so inquisitive children won’t touch them. The nursery also conducts a fire drill, at least once a term. Moreover, every individual entering the campus is registered so that a record is available in times of emergency. Additionally, the campus has fire extinguishers and other fire-fighting equipment. Fire doors are available at the campus that are clearly marked and never obstructed. Furthermore, the campus also implements COVID-19 protocols issued by the Ministry of Education to offer a safe learning environment to children amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some security measures taken by the management of Home Grown Children’s Eco Nursery include background checking of each member of its staff, effective security systems placed on the entrance and exit points, complete record of those entering and leaving premises and visitors badge given to authorised personnel. The outdoor areas are properly fenced and supervised via CCTV cameras at all times. Moreover, the electric equipment, ventilation system and lighting conform to national and international standards.

A nurse is available during school hours to provide medical attention and care to children in need. The nursery also asks for written permission for emergency medical advice and treatment at the time of admission. If children are taking prescribed medicines, parents can hand them to teachers with written permission.
