To facilitate secondary students in joining universities and choosing from a wide range of options, GEMS Winchester School Fujairah provides exam qualifications through CIE and Edexcel Examinations.

How to Apply to GEMS Winchester School Fujairah

Students can apply online for admissions at GEMS Winchester School

Parents interested in GEMS Winchester School Fujairah admissions can enrol their kids online. Once the form is filled and submitted along with some necessary documents, parents receive an inquiry number via email. Parents are suggested to keep this number as it is used as a reference point for further progress and communication about GEMS Winchester School Fujairah admissions.

When the application form is accepted by the school, parents have to pay a non-refundable registration and enrollment fee of AED 500.

The school contacts parents to schedule an interview or assessment test. Students who are applying for Year 2 upwards, need to appear for an English assessment test conducted by a trained education team. When the interview or assessment test is completed and the child has been accepted and offered a place, the school informs the parents of further procedures. School gives preference to siblings of students who are already studying in the school.

Places are offered based on assessment test performance, previous school reports and availability of seats.

This scholarship is offered based on proven outstanding academic achievement and is available for prospective and current students of GEMS Schools from Grade 6. Academic scholarship is awarded based on the competitive application process.

It is awarded on the following criteria:

  • Candidate’s full report’s assessment
  • Verbal and non-verbal reasoning test results by the school

CREATIVE AND PERFORMING ARTS SCHOLARSHIP

Creative and Performing Arts Scholarship is for passionate artists and performers who are in the top 70th percentile in their class. The forms of arts eligible for the award include music, drama, spoken words, and dance, theatre, debate and creative or visual arts. This scholarship is open for current and prospective students of GEMS Schools from Grade 6. The scholarship is processed on a competitive application process.

Creative and Performing Arts Scholarships are awarded on the following criteria:

  • Candidate’s scholarship application form’s assessment by GEMS
  • Candidate’s full report and its assessment by GEMS
  • Candidate’s achievements/awards/recognition from internationally recognised awarding bodies
  • Audition results (held at the GEMS school)
  • Interview with the GEMS school principal to assess the applicant’s calibre and commitment
  • A final interview conducted by the GEM Scholarship Committee

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS

Students who are committed to sports and are ranked in the top 70 percentile among their classmates are eligible for this scholarship. The candidates should have consistently played a sport for 3 to 5 years and participated in regional or international level tournaments.

Candidates must have proven athletic ability, potential, enthusiasm and determination to excel in a particular sport. Prospective and currently enrolled students of GEMS schools from Grade 6 and above are eligible for sports scholarships.

It is awarded on the following criteria:

  • GEMS assessments of the scholarship application form filled by the candidate
  • Full report’s assessment (from present school) by GEMS
  • Proof of representation and benchmark results in the relevant sports (including swimming, football, rugby, track & field)
  • The interview with the principal of GEMS World Academy to assess an applicant’s commitment and calibre
  • A final interview with the GEMS Scholarships Committee

INNOVATION AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP

These are awarded based on the candidate’s potential to flourish their innovation and digital technology skills. This includes coding, cryptology, computational thinking and app development. Current and prospective students from Grade 6 are eligible for this scholarship. Innovation and Digital technology scholarship are awarded based on:

  • Candidate’s full report from present GEMS school
  • Presentation/demonstration of an innovation project by the students to the scholarship committee

ARABIC STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP (for Native Speakers)

Arabic Studies Scholarships for native speakers are awarded as a subset of Academic scholarship. These are given to candidates who prove their outstanding academic achievement in Arabic Studies and can maintain a high level of academic achievement.

Currently enrolled and prospective students of GEMS schools of Grade 6 are eligible for the scholarship. This scholarship is awarded on the following criteria:

  • GEMS assessment of scholarship application form
  • GEMS assessment of a full report of candidate’s present school
  • The applicant must prove and demonstrate:
    • Literary contributions in Arabic (including poetry, story, speech or novel)
    • Use of Arabic inside and outside the school
    • An active role in spreading the language
    • A leadership role in the Arabic department
  • 95% in terms of Grade for internal or external Arabic language exams
  • Awarded and prized for the Arabic language by the school, national and international organizations
  • Performance in front of the school, local and international audience using the Arabic language
  • Standard proficiency tests (oral and written) conducted by GEMS World Academy

ARABIC STUDIES SCHOLARSHIPS (FOR NON-NATIVE SPEAKERS)

Arabic Studies scholarships are a subset of academic scholarships. These are awarded based on the candidate’s proven and outstanding achievements in Arabic studies. Arabic studies scholarships for non-native speakers are given to students who maintain a high level of academic achievement.

Students of Grade 6 are eligible for the scholarship and are awarded on a competitive application process. Current and prospective students of GEMS school can apply for the Arabic studies scholarship. Candidate’s whose parents or guardians do not hold Arab passports can avail of the scholarship.

Arabic Studies Scholarship is awarded on the following basis:

  • GEMS’ assessment of the scholarship application form
  • Internal or external assessment Arabic language exams and grades
  • Candidate’s ability to express and speak fluently in Arabic
  • Candidate’s high levels of proficiency in Arabic reading and listening
