Founded in 1990, Our Own English School was renamed as GEMS United Indian School following a restructuring and building of a new, state-of-the-art campus in 2015. GUIS is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi and delivers the curriculum of the same from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. GEMS United Indian School (GUIS) is an Indian curriculum school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). GUIS delivers the CBSE curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 12.
The CBSE curriculum is infused with the subjects made mandatory by the Ministry of Education (MoE) throughout all the grade levels. Education at GUIS is not limited to solely reading and writing, but also consists of learning, unlearning, innovating and relearning.

GEMS UIS imparts education with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum designed and developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi.
The primary language of instruction is English. The curriculum takes a project-based problem-solving approach that helps students think, collaborate and communicate. Arabic language, Islamic studies and UAE social studies are also included within the syllabus.

GEMS female students have the opportunity to apply for the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for Excellence. The award, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mubarak Al Nahayan (UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology), is presented to girls attending GEMS schools across the Middle East.
This scholarship is offered to female students that have proven themselves as global citizens. Students have to exhibit outstanding leadership qualities as well as exceptional academic achievements to be eligible for the award.
