Emirates National Schools is established by Presidential Decree and is owned by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs. The Board of Trustees includes prominent Emiratis including H.E Ahmed Mohammed Al Hemeiri as the Chairperson.

ENS Abu Dhabi City campus has a primary section for Grade 1 to Grade 4 students. Here, children study in a co-educational setup. Boys and girls from Grade 5 onward have separate classes. The IB Primary Year Programme (PYP) is offered at the school

ENS Al Nahyan follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) until Grade 5. The Primary Year Programme focuses on the well-rounded development of students to help them perform well in the classroom and beyond the classroom. PYP also prepares students for the IB Middle Years Programme.

ADEK inspected Emirates National School Al Nahyan from 13th to 16th June 2022 and rated it “Acceptable.”

According to the preliminary report, students’ attainment in Islamic Education, Arabic, Mathematics and Science is acceptable. Their attainment and progress in English were found to be good. Students show acceptable progress in subjects including Mathematics and Science. Their learning skills are acceptable.

Teaching and assessment at the school are acceptable in all phases. The health and safety measures at Emirates National School Al Nahyan are good whereas, the care and support towards students are acceptable. As per the ADEK report, the governance of the school is good while its self-evaluation, partnership with parents, management, and effectiveness of leadership are acceptable.

Academic Calendar of Emirates National Schools Al Nahyan

The first day of school is the 29th of August. Term 1 ends on 28th October. Term 2 starts from October 31st. Winter break lasts from 12th to 30th December. The term ends on 20th January.

Term 3 starts from 23rd January and ends on 24th March. Spring holidays last for about two weeks – from 27th March to 7th April.

How to Apply to Emirates National Schools Al Nahyan?

Parents interested in Emirates National Schools admissions can fill out the registration form on the official website. However, they must remember that successful entry depends on the availability of seats and the entrance test result.

The campus director or designee will interview the student. Plus, applicants must clear a formal written assessment in Mathematics, English and Arabic. Students might not need to fully prepare for this entrance test as the evaluation is based on previous knowledge only.

Emirates National Schools gives priority to:

Parents must submit the following documents along with the admission form for the entrance exam:

  • Student’s passport copy (UID number for locals and residence visa for expats)

  • Birth certificate of the student. Those born outside the UAE will have to provide an attested birth certificate. Attestation is not needed for certificates from GCC countries, the USA, Canada, Europe and Scandinavian countries.

Medical Care at Emirates National Schools Al Nahyan
