Here, at Dubai Schools Al Barsha, the New York State Education Standards Department (NYSED) is followed. It's a popular state curriculum in the US followed across the world for its academic rigour and excellence.

Here are the specifics for each phase of education:

Early Learning Curriculum

The school follows the early learning curriculum for students in KG1 and KG2. Since these years are the first few years of schooling for any child, the school uses informal teaching methodologies to accustom them to the school environment. The early learning curriculum at Dubai Schools Al Barsha is a play-based, experimental and developmentally-appropriate curriculum following NYSED standards.

KG1 and KG2 students engage in numerous learning activities, all dedicated to building foundational skills. As a result, students clearing the early learning stage have all the skills necessary for subsequent phases of education. Moreover, the school offers personalised learning in this phase following a child-first approach. Thus, teachers help children whenever they meet a challenge to help them learn and get over it.

Read the Early Learning Curriculum at Dubai Schools Al Barsha for more information.

The main constituents of the science curriculum in the elementary stage are Physical Science, Life Science, Earth and Space Science, and Engineering and Design. Read the elementary stage curriculum at Dubai Schools Al Barsha for more information.

The school has plans to cater to the middle and secondary students in coming years. However, different goals are set for Arab and non-Arab students.

Arab students in Grade 1 to Grade 3 are expected to study Arabic language for at least 240 minutes per week. The minutes reduce to 200 per week for students in Grade 4 to Grade 6. Whereas, students in Grade 7 to Grade 12, in future, will study Arabic language for at least 160 minutes per week.
