Dubai International School Al Quoz established in 1998 is the sister school of Dubai International School, Al Garhoud. It follows the US Common Core curriculum for most subjects while Next Generation Standards are followed for Science. The school offers classes from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Dubai International School Al Quoz campus is based on a large corner plot. The traditional building has a clear divide between the Kindergarten section and other classes. KG and Elementary sections are located at the front. Upper Elementary and Intermediate sections are separate for girls and boys. Kindergarten curriculum is child-centred and is based on Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s research program. It is also aligned with the California Preschool Learning Foundation and California Common Core Curriculum standards. The goal is to foster knowledge through play activities.
Learning involves reading, writing, listening and speaking. Mathematics skills include counting, basic mathematical operations, measurements and data and basic geometry. The school requires for applicant, if he meets the placement test criteria and the minimum age guidelines set by the school, to take a placement test and then to a personal interview.
The principal of the school will evaluate the results of the tests and recommendations by teachers, as well as review the previous school records thoroughly to determine whether the applicant is eligible to be enrolled in the school.
The school will contact the parents of the applicant if he passes the placement test and meets the admission criteria and provides a seat for his registration. Registration is not completed until all required papers are submitted and registration fee is paid

DIS Al Quoz has a balanced range of exciting and educational field trips. These trips are planned as part of the learning process of students of all ages.
Dubai International School Al Quoz has two types of field trips:
Educational trips include visits to the zoo, museum, parks, landmarks and government institutes. Community service-based trips such as visits to old age homes, volunteer workshops, universities and environmental agencies instil values and kindness in students.
The activity coordinator plans all trips for the whole year, and parents are provided full details. They must send the trip’s approval for their child to join the excursion. During the trips, one teacher is responsible for 15 to 20 students. A nurse accompanies students during the trip, and a first aid kit is always kept in every school bus.
A school nurse and physician is responsible for dealing with minor and major incidents. The school clinic staff has received basic life support training courses and are licensed by the Dubai Health Authority. First aid kits are stocked in the clinic, FS staffroom and near swimming pools.
If students need any medication during school hours, the medicine should be clearly labelled and mention the student’s name, dose and time of administration along with the doctor’s prescription.
To maintain a strong partnership with parents, Dubai Private School Al Quoz provides up to date information to parents about their child’s progress and improvements. A written report is sent to parents so that they can keep track of the progress.
