FOUNDATION STAGE CURRICULUM

Early years’ education is one of the crucial stages in the life of a child. In this stage, the school builds the foundations necessary for children to pursue future education. The school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. It is a popular method practised all over the world to introduce children to the world of possibilities. EYFS targets the learning and development of students based on the seven key areas of learning. These learning areas are:

  • Understanding the world
  • Communication and Language
  • Social, personal and emotional development
  • Numeracy
  • Literacy
  • Expressive arts and design
  • Physical development

These learning areas are targeted throughout the Early Years of education of a child for all-round development. For each learning area, the school carries out a series of planned and purposeful ‘play and learn’ activities.

The teachers devise their activities in a way that considers the stages of development, interests and needs of children. Students enjoy their time in the foundation stage making new friends and exploring the world. The lessons are meticulously planned to meet the learning capabilities of young learners. Arabic and Islamic education are also provided to children from the foundation stage. The lessons include Islamic identity, morals, Arabic language and Qur’an recitation. Students completing their foundation stage education enter the primary stage with the necessary foundational skills.
