ABOUT AL KHAWANEEJThere may be a smaller number of farming communities in Dubai but major investments have been ploughed into the agricultural sector by the government. One such community called Al Khawaneej lies behind the more culturally-diverse areas, such as International City, Al Warqaa and Mirdif. Mostly a desert area, it begins from the western side of Emirates Road (E611) and runs parallel to the Sharjah-Dubai border.
