Guide to water and electricity activation in your Abu Dhabi home
If you’re moving houses in the capital city, you need to request the activation of electricity and water in Abu Dhabi. Our guide details the complete process and how to request these connections in your new homes.
ACTIVATION OF ELECTRICITY AND WATER IN ABU DHABI PROCESS
Your tenancy contract must be registered with Tawtheeq Abu Dhabi online to request the activation of electricity/water (move-in) in Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADCC) linked their systems with Tawtheeq in 2015. After this, Abu Dhabi residents’ water and electricity accounts will be set up once ADCC receives your relevant details. This means you no longer have to complete a separate move-in application when changing homes.
To start the move-in process, you have to provide the following details:
- Select if you are a tenant or owner of the property
- Enter your premise ID
- Enter your property address
HOW TO ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT ONLINE?
The best way to manage the activation of electricity and water in Abu Dhabi is to open an online account. This lets you track your usage and change or update details whenever necessary. You can also manage connections and pay bills through your online account.
You can use the following steps to activate your online account.
- Enter your ADCC account number (you will find this in the customer details section of your bill)
- Click on Send a PIN Code
- Enter the 4-digit PIN Code and continue
Please note that if you registered on ADCC’s old website, you can log in using the same username and password.
