If you have lost your car licence plate, you should try to apply for a replacement as soon as possible. The first step is to apply for a lost certificate via the Dubai Police website.
APPLY FOR LOST ITEM CERTIFICATE
Visit the website and head to the Lost Item Certificate section. Add your email address and Emirates ID or passport number. In the sub-category vehicle, select ‘number plates, spare parts, vehicle and tools’.
Next, you will have to add details about your vehicle, such as plate number, issuing emirate, car colour, owner name and more. You will also have to add the location, time and date when you lost the plate. Pay the fee, submit the application, and you will receive a transaction number.
The fees include an AED 50 online service fee and an AED 20 Knowledge and Innovation fee. If you apply at the Smart Police Station, an additional fee of AED 100 will be charged. Once the certificate is approved and issued, you will receive it via email.
