Have you heard of the UAE Mystery Shopper app yet?
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai recently announced the launch of the UAE Mystery Shopper application. The app allows the general public to rate and evaluate government services and centres across the country.
WHAT IS THE UAE MYSTERY SHOPPER APPLICATION?
The UAE Mystery Shopper app is the government’s way of obtaining constructive feedback from the people about a variety of aspects involving public services. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, tweeted:
“The UAE will continue to open new channels of communication with residents to get their feedback and suggestions about government services. This feedback will be used to assess service centres and submit their performance reports to the Cabinet,”
You can be anywhere in the UAE, a mystery shopper in Sharjah, Dubai or Abu Dhabi and still record your valuable feedback for the government. The smart application allows you as a user, to rate your overall experience concerning government service centres. This covers a number of things including:
- Service centre locations
- Availability of parking spaces
- The environment and efficiency of reception areas
- The duration of waiting time
- The adequacy of service fees
- The behaviour of employees
- The ease of payment
- The clarity of the process
- The time taken for service completion
You can find the UAE Mystery Shopper app on Google Play Store and the App Store. The smart application comes with eight different languages, including:
- Arabic
- English
- Chinese
- French
- Hindi
- Russian
- Spanish
- Urdu
HOW TO USE THE APP
Once you download the app, you can choose the language you would like to communicate in and then proceed to rate the UAE government services you have used.
As soon as you login, you will be directed to a screen with all the nearby public services that you may have used, from which you can choose the option that applies to you. You can also search for the service that you want to rate if it doesn’t appear on the first page.
After choosing the relevant service, you are given the option to select whether you are happy with the service or not. Based on your response here, you will be directed to a screen where you can choose what aspect of the public service you were most pleased with or not.
If there was a particular employee who impressed you with their dedication, you can also leave your comments about them.
After submitting your comments, if you want to revisit all the services you have rated, you can also keep track using the ‘Rating History’ section.
HOW WILL THE APP HELP?
In the words of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed, “Every individual in our community in the UAE is a partner in improving government services. Every customer is a mystery shopper who will be the judge and the measure for the performance of any government entity and the efficiency of services it provides.”
Users can record their feedback on the government service centres and their respective experiences via the app during or after their visit. The feedback received on the UAE Mystery Shopper application, from customers and users will help the government:
- Evaluate its existing services and processes
- Identify weaknesses in the system and work on improving them
- Recognise success stories and dedicated employees
- Realise development opportunities as and when they arise
- Provide better services with efficient processes and quicker turnaround
The mystery shopper concept in the UAE is not a new one. It originated 30 years ago, in the year 1990 and has served as an important tool for the government to observe and evaluate its overall performance.
The UAE Mystery Shopper app is a modern adaptation of the programme to streamline and establish an efficient channel of communication between the government and people of the UAE.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed also said, “The doors of our government are open to people. The voice of the customer is always heard and his feedback is the essence of our attention and follow-up. The duty of the official in any government entity is the interaction and direct communication with people, listening openly to them in the field and improving services as per their expectations.”
This stands true for most other government services, like Taqyeem. Talking about other smart applications bringing all-round conveniences to the people, the recent launch of Smiles UAE application launched by Etisalat allows you to avail discounts and redeem coupons.
