Things to do at Reem Central Park
One of the fastest-growing developments in Abu Dhabi, Al Reem Island recently inaugurated its new recreational space. Officially known as Reem Central Park, the one million square foot park is developed by Aldar Properties as part of its social responsibilities program.
With a skating arena, community lawn, playground, city beach, and canal walk, Al Reem Central Park Abu Dhabi is designed to be the ultimate getaway for residents and visitors alike. In terms of entry fees, Al Reem Island park is also one of the free public parks in Abu Dhabi, so it’s a great budget friendly recreational spot. On that note, here is a rundown of the top things to do in Reem Central Park.
Stunning Art Work
First impressions? It is stunning. This is thanks to the gorgeous artwork, colourful flooring and incredible motifs courtesy of Aldar Properties who partnered with Abu Dhabi Art 2019 and commissioned locally based artists to create a range of unique permanent pieces throughout the park. If you are an art lover, keep a lookout for site-specific pieces and artwork on the staircase, playground and walls.

Al Reem Central Park features a variety of recreational areas for adults and kids alike. In addition to the canal that runs along the whole park, there is a playground for kids and several sports courts. A family favourite, this area also offers a mix of sporting facilities including basketball and football courts. There is also a shaded playground with slides. Additionally, this area also has some fountains and other water features to keep kids entertained.

The Beach Walk which has a sandy area near the waters is a great place whether you want to walk along the beach, watch kids build sand castles or just rest and gaze at the mangroves nearby.
There is also a beach volleyball set up here where you can watch people playing the sport all afternoon long or join in on the action yourself.
Other amenities include wheelchair and stroller friendly paths, urban style furniture to rest tired feet, and several shaded areas. Asides from that, there is a retail centre and a mosque that has room to accommodate up to 2000 people.
Additionally, the park is also known to host outdoor shows and television programs. For a better experience, we recommend going during the evenings; that’s when the laser light show starts at the fountain. Also, there is no Reem Central Park entrance fee — one of the many reasons why the place is so popular with residents and visitors alike.
