Sip and dine in style: All about The Guild in DIFC
The Guild, a tribute to the brasseries of New York and Europe, has unveiled the second phase of restaurants at its location in ICD Brookfield Place. The DIFC-based concept dining establishment now accepts reservations for The Rockpool and The Salon, which opened in September 2023. Learn all about the latest additions to The Guild DIFC.
About The Guild DIFC Concepts
The Guild DIFC project is a 17,000 sq. ft. culinary space helmed by chef Tom Arnel. It currently houses four concepts, with plans to add a fifth.
The Guild DIFC Eateries
One of the most unique aspects of The Guild DIFC is its design. The massive area is defined as a “dining room” with rooms offering different experiences. At the front is The Avenue with ghaf trees where visitors can grab a coffee or casual drinks.

The Rockpool
The latest addition to The Guild DIFC is designed as its namesake thanks to a huge rock pool which lies centre-stage — with seafood being the major choice of cuisine. The pool itself houses live brown crabs, oysters and North Atlantic lobsters. There is also a 12-metre raw bar, a private dining room for up to 16 guests and an adjoining bar.
Another recent addition is The Ritz, a private dining area above The Rockpool — complete with special menus and personalised service.
The Salon
The second new restaurant in The Guild DIFC is The Salon, aptly named as it is meant to imitate grand European dining halls. All the food here is cooked on open kitchen islands and live charcoal. According to Arnel, this kitchen is powered by fire instead of the staple gas or electricity.
Hidden in The Salon is a nightclub experience with a piano and lounge space. Notable items on the menu here include everything from Japanese wagyu to black truffle risotto and even interesting selections like garlic snails.
A curtain separates The Rock Pool and The Salon, providing a seamless dining experience for guests who want the best of both worlds.
The Potting Shed and The Nurseries
These areas are vastly different from the previously mentioned two. The Potting Shed comes after The Avenue. Enter, and you will be transported to a space that mimics a greenhouse, which makes it a perfect meeting spot for those who love to be surrounded by nature. Apart from a sumptuous breakfast, visitors can enjoy lunch, drinks or dinner here.
The Nurseries is a pastry boutique which, as Arnel puts it, is a “café and brasserie by day and a lounge bar by night time.” It is currently open for breakfast and lunch. Have a sumptuous brekkie brasserie style with options like sourdough, free-range egg-based dishes and fresh pastries. For a finishing touch, try their freshly brewed coffee. Other highlights in The Nurseries are a bubbly room, pastry boutique and live Jazz music.
Apart from the mentioned concepts at The Guild DIFC, visitors can also look forward to The Aviary. The aviary-themed cocktail bar will open soon with highlights including a malt beverage stand.
