The Smash Room Story
The Smash Room in the UAE is a result of the collective efforts channelised by two friends, Hiba Balfqih and her best friend Ibrahim Abudyak. Balfaqih, who herself, had experienced a lot of anger and resentment when her grandmother passed away, found solace in smashing. So, she thought of creating a platform where others could also deal with stress in the same way instead of resorting to self-harming behaviours. She discussed the idea with Ibrahim, and they both decided to turn it into a reality. Thus, in March 2018, the Smash Room came into being in Dubai, paving the way for grown-ups to throw a tantrum.
Though Smash Room has various centres around the world, such as Canada, America, Texas, Netherlands, and Australia; however, it is a first of its kind project in the UAE.
