One of the fastest-growing airports in the world, Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) offers a number of facilities to travellers. In today’s blog post, we will talk about the new Skypark Plaza at Abu Dhabi Airport. 

SKYPARK PLAZA: MORE THAN JUST A PARKING FACILITY

Skypark Plaza is a multi-storey car park at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The plaza, however, is more than just a parking facility. Skypark is also the go-to retail and F&B avenue for the surrounding commercial areas. Skypark Plaza Parking charges start from AED 5 for 30 minutes and can go up to AED 240 for the whole day. Free Skypark Plaza parking is available for visitors using any of Skypark Plaza’s outlets. 

CAR RENTAL SERVICES

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) also launched six car rental offices in Skypark Plaza. These car rental services offer convenience and quick access for passengers from Terminal 1 and 3. Companies operating at Skypark Plaza include Hertz, Europcar, Dollar, Payless, Budget, Avis and Thrifty.

Along with travellers, local residents and businesses near Abu Dhabi International Airport also benefit from these car rental services. All Abu Dhabi Airport car rental offices remain open 24 hours. 

BEAUTY TREATMENTS

Passengers arriving or departing from the AUH airport can also avail world-class spa facilities by TOSA, a globally renowned alternative beauty and healing centre. You can get traditional skin and body treatments (massages, facials, mani-pedis etc.).

There are separate male and female treatment and changing rooms, a relaxation lounge for women and a mani-pedi room with TV and magazines. TOSA has two outlets at the airport, with the other one located at Terminal 1. TOSA at Terminal 1 also offers express beauty services if you are short on time.

SHOPPING

Back in 2014, ADAC expanded the retail offerings at Abu Dhabi International Airport with the launch of Starter Supermarket at Skypark Plaza. Once again, this retail outlet enhances the customer experience, not just for passengers, but also for visitors, employees and residents around the airport community. The supermarket is open every day from 06:00 am to 12:00 am. You can find a range of everyday items, fresh produce as well as frozen items. 

There is a bakery that serves daily fresh items and you can also have hot and cold meals. Starter Supermarket features a souvenir and gift section. Visitors can access the store from the Terminal 3 car park.

Starter Supermarket is a part of the Abu Dhabi Duty Free, which spans across the three terminals of the airport. One can also shop online from Abu Dhabi Airport Duty Free. You can place orders online up to four hours before arriving at the airport from the online catalogue. 

Other Duty-Free outlets located inside Skypark Plaza include Sougha, Al Razi Pharmacy and Du. If you need a SIM card, you can get one from the various telecommunication counters lined up at the plaza’s retail hub.

RESTAURANTS AND CAFES AT SKYPARK PLAZA

There are enough Skypark Plaza Abu Dhabi restaurants and cafes to satisfy your appetite, ranging from popular fast food outlets and cafes to speciality restaurants serving international cuisines.

MCDONALD’S

Enjoy classic McDonald’s burgers, fries and shakes at Skypark Plaza. One can also choose from their extensive breakfast menu from 05:00 am to 11:00 am. A seating area is also available at the restaurant.

LA BRIOCHE

This French restaurant serves an incredible breakfast menu that includes everything from scrumptious French bread to creamy soups.

You can also choose from a range of small plates and traditional favourites. From amazing coffee to baked food and snacks, there is much to fill your tummy at La Brioche. Apart from Skypark Plaza, there are more than 20 branches of La Brioche in the emirate, making it one of the best French restaurants in Abu Dhabi.

HATAM 

The restaurant chain was launched in 1989 in the UAE and has grown in popularity since then. Along with signature Iranian dishes, Hatam is also known for its great service.

COSTA COFFEE

Costa Coffee is among the best coffee shops in Abu Dhabi. Along with signature coffee blends, you can also order from their extensive breakfast menu.

TRAVEL AGENCIES

If you have just landed in Abu Dhabi and need to make local arrangements or book another flight, you can find Omeir Travel Agency and Asian Gulf Travel at Skypark Plaza. 

CURRENCY EXCHANGE 

You can also avail of the currency exchange services at Emirates NBD and Landslide at Skypark Plaza. 

In addition to this, there is a Visa & Residency centre located on Level 4 of Skypark Plaza. 

PREMIER INN ABU DHABI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Premier Inn Hotel is located next to Skypark, and you get direct access from the airport terminal through the corridor inside the plaza, which means you don’t even need to take the shuttle service.

It is the most convenient place for lodging near the airport, with spacious rooms, swimming pools, restaurant, meeting room and cafe. Other hotels near Abu Dhabi Airport include Centro Yas Island and Park Inn By Radisson.

SKYPARK PLAZA LOCATION

The plaza is just a short walk from both Terminal 1 and 3. Terminal 1 is the oldest facility at the airport and features the iconic circular gate area. Terminal 3, on the other hand, is an expansion to Terminal 1 and is dedicated to serving the national carrier, Etihad Airways. 

If you are arriving from Terminal 2, Skypark is a kilometre’s walk, which you can avoid by taking a free terminal shuttle bus. The AUH airport also offers free shuttle service between Terminal 1 and 2 at 15-minute intervals. You can find shuttle stops at Entrance 5 of Terminal 1 and in front of the Departures Hall at Terminal 2.
