The 7th Edition of the Sharjah Dates Festival is a testament to the love people have for dates in the UAE. The annual event champions local produce and supports palm cultivation. A project of Sharjah Asset Management Company, an investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, it aims to enhance the competitiveness of the industry locally and internationally. After all, dates symbolise the hospitality and heritage of the country, as well as contributing to the economy.

There are plenty of activities that visitors to the 7th Annual Sharjah Dates Festival can enjoy. The event is perfect for families. You can also take your friends along for a fun time!
Some of the activities that you can participate in include shopping for a wide range of dates and learning more about the diversity of the beloved fruit such as Asaba Al-Arous, Shishi, Lulu, Barhi, Khadrawi, Khalas and Nagal. You can even expect to find imported dates from Oman. The festival provides a platform to date sellers to share their fresh produce from local farms.
LOCATION AND TIMINGS
The 7th Annual Sharjah Dates Festival has begun and will run until the end of September 2022. It is held at Souq Al Jubail or Sharjah Fish Market as it is colloquially known — a state-of-the-art conventional market that blends Islamic architecture with Emirati traditions and overlooks the iconic Flag Island as well as Sharjah Corniche.
The market stretches over an area of more than 400,000 sq. ft. It has three sections which include a fruits and vegetable section, a meat and poultry and a fish section. Therefore, visitors to the Sharjah Dates Festival will get to enjoy a unique experience and witness the beauty of dates.
The festival is open to the public during the market working hours.

- Friday: 07:00 am to 11:30 am and 01:00 pm to 10:00 pm
