What is Salik?
Salik is the electronic toll gate system in Dubai. It was launched by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on 1 July 2007 to help improve the flow of traffic on the major roads in Dubai.
How to Purchase a Salik Tag Online?
Getting a new Salik Dubai Tag online is simple. Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has discontinued Salik paper application forms. Now, the entire process is paperless and take just a few minutes to complete.
New Salik tags can be purchased, registered and activated online either through Salik official website or the Smart Salik App.
After purchasing a Salik tag through the authorised dealers or Salik website, you’ll need to provide details such as,
- Salik Tag number
- Traffic file number
- Mobile phone number
- Other information as per the terms and procedures on the Salik website or Smart Salik App.
Once all the data is provided, you’ll get an SMS confirming the successful completion of registering or activating the Salik Tag.

There are a total of seven Salik toll gates in Dubai. You can find them across all the major highways and bridges in Dubai.

Here is the new list of Salik Dubai toll gates. Bear in mind that the two Al Mamzar toll gates on Al Ittihad Street are considered as one. If you go in the same direction at the same hour, you will only be charged once.

What are the Salik charges in Dubai?
Each Salik Dubai Toll Gate is charged at AED 4. You will be charged individually every time you pass by a gate, no matter the number of trips you take within a day.
The only exception to this is for the two Al Mamzar toll gates on Al Ittihad Street. If you travel through both of these in the same direction within one hour, you will only be charged once (AED 4).
How much does the Salik Tag in Dubai cost?

How do I pay the Dubai Salik Tollgate fees?

To pay the Dubai Salik toll gate fees, you will get to register with Salik and attach the Salik Tag to the front windshield of the car. The Salik Tag is what will be scanned at these electronic gates to deduct the toll amount.
The Salik tollgates in Dubai are fitted with the latest sensors and cameras to detect your car. This means you won’t have to physically stop your car or slow down to pay the Dubai Salik fees.

Here is a list of some of the routes you can take to avoid toll roads in Dubai. The best way to identify these toll-free roads in Dubai is to use Google Maps. Make sure to select the “Avoid Tolls” option when you choose your route.
- E311/ Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road: This road can be used to avoid the Jebel Ali Salik Gate, Al Barsha Salik Gate and Al Safa Salik Gate. This is especially helpful if you want to avoid the Salik tolls from Abu Dhabi to Dubai. It is constantly used by residents of the neighbourhoods on Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Barsha and Jebel Ali.
- Floating Bridge: This route can be used to avoid the Al Garhoud Salik Gate and Al Maktoum Salik Gate.
- Business Bay Crossing: Use this route to avoid the Al Garhoud Salik Gate
- D 83/Rebat Street: This is a free road that bypasses the Airport Tunnel Salik Gate
