A RoboCafe is opening soon in Dubai
Yes, you read that right! A cafe run by robots will be opening up in Dubai this summer. While this may sound like something that’s only possible in a dystopian future, Dubai’s first robot-run cafe will be here soon! This RoboCafe in Dubai is set to be launched in Dubai Festival City Mall and will feature robots preparing and serving food. So those living in the rental apartments in Al Jaddaf and Culture Village are definitely going to want to check out RoboCafe Dubai, the innovative new joint in the city!
RoboCafe in Dubai Festival City: The Ultimate Blend of AI and Hospitality
There will be three robots at this revolutionary new Dubai RoboCafe. But if you are imagining a Terminator-like, life-size robot, that’s not what you are going to encounter at the cafe. The robot is fashioned like a functional arm, capable of carrying out a variety of tasks.
Using the latest technologies in robotics and AI, the robot arms will take orders, serve food and drinks. In addition to this, the robot arms are also programmed to perform music and put on light shows. Now that’s impressive!
Customers visiting this first-of-its-kind robot cafe in Dubai will have to place their order through a tablet placed at the entrance. The robot arms will then take the order and produce the dishes and serve them.
While the full details of the menu are yet to be announced, current reports suggest that the Dubai RoboCafé will be serving up a mix of beverages such as tea, coffee and mocktails and along with a curated menu of snacks.
Robotics in Dubai
This new cafe is yet another initiative that is in line with Dubai’s plans to develop a knowledge-based society where innovation is welcomed.
This is not the first time that robotics has been used in the hospitality industry in the city. Other restaurants in Dubai with robots include Tanuki, a Japanese bistro in The Dubai Mall, where a futuristic robot greets and ushers you in. Ruby the Robotic Waitress is another robot who greets visitors at Bur Dubai’s Drink and Spice Magics. While she cannot take orders from customers, she can deliver orders by following a set track.
The rapid development of artificial intelligence in the city of Dubai has resulted in the increasing use of robots in all walks of life. Robotics has already been used in medicine and law enforcement, and now we can see it making a mark in hospitality, one of the leading industries in the UAE. Technology is certainly booming in the UAE as can be seen from the influx of smart home gadgets and other initiatives by the Dubai Smart government.
RoboCafé Dubai is a step towards the virtual future that Dubai Smart Government is working hard to actualise. It will be a qualitative addition to the technical achievements in the region and is expected to be an additional factor in promoting tourism in Dubai, along with other innovative attractions like the Museum of the Future.
