A guide to the Red Line metro stations in Dubai
The Dubai Red Line is one of the two routes in the emirate’s acclaimed metro system. It is vital in connecting some of Dubai’s most popular destinations like the Dubai Mall and DXB airport terminals. A closer look at the Dubai Metro Red Line stations can help new visitors navigate the city more easily.
About Red Line Metro
The Dubai Metro is currently made up of the Red Line and Green Line — both of which cover main areas in the emirate. The orange line in the map of the rail network depicts the location of Tram stations. Plans are also underway to introduce the Dubai Metro Blue Line.

The official inauguration of the Red Line’s first phase was held in 2009 with ten stations. More followed, and in 2011, it became the longest single metro line in the world with driverless trains, as per Guinness World Records.
The Dubai Red Line metro system runs along the Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) for most of its route, starting from Centrepoint and ending at UAE Exchange. Along the route are two transfer stations with the Green Line — one at BurJuman and the other at Union Metro Station. A recent extension of the system, Route 2020, which ends at Expo City Dubai, became operational in 2021.
It takes approximately an hour and 14 minutes to travel from Centrepoint to Expo 2020 MS or cover all Red Line Metro stations.
