Apartments
According to Bayut.com’s search results data, the area that attracted most interest from buyers looking for apartments in the UAE capital in January 2017 was Al Reem Island. With respect to numbers, the area received a mammoth 54% share of the search queries from buyers on the hunt for units. Al Reem Island has shot up the popularity ranks in recent years due to its planned communities, high quality structures and its partial acceptance of pets which is a top consideration for many western owners. The locality was followed by Al Raha Beach that took home 18% of all searches for apartments on sale in Abu Dhabi. The freehold area is popular with buyers as it is close to the airport, as well as key leisure destinations.
At third position was Al Reef, another locality that benefits from closeness to key areas on the emirate’s periphery. Though Saadiyat Island, with 5% share of searches, was at the fifth spot, the locality appears set to become the next lifestyle destination in the emirate as a host of quality residential and commercial projects are set to come online in the coming years. At the fifth spot was Al Ghadeer, the community much closer to Dubai than the main island of Abu Dhabi. The quiet community is favoured by folks who work in Dubai but long for much more peaceful environment and lower rents than those found in the main areas of the two cities.
