So, if you’ve been asking, ‘can I take my dog to Dubai,’ remember:

- According to International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations, all pets travelling to Dubai must be shipped in manifested cargo as per International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations.
- Pets cannot travel with the owner as added luggage or in-cabin.
- A maximum of two pets can travel to the UAE per person; each pet must have an import permit.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO BRING YOUR PET TO DUBAI
Pet relocation to Dubai requires the owner to comply with the requirements and bear the cost. These include paying for official documents such as import permits, vaccine cards or animal passports, an updated pet microchip, etc.
Many organisations offer pet relocation services in Dubai. However, as an owner, it is best to familiarise yourself with the official documents you need to move to Dubai with your pet.
The documents which are needed to bring your pet to Dubai include:
- Owner’s passport copy: Before preparing your pet’s records, ensure you have the documentation required to bring your pet to Dubai. Have a scanned copy of your passport, UAE residence visa and Emirates ID handy when you apply for the UAE pet import permit.
- UAE pet import permit: A valid import permit is required for any pet relocation to Dubai. This permit is necessary to facilitate clearance for your pet at customs in the UAE and book your pet’s flights. It is valid for 30 days from its issue. You can also find detailed information on the official Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) website.
- Original vaccination card or animal passport: For pet relocation to Dubai, ensure your pet has valid documentation that includes your pet’s microchip number, date of birth, the validity of treatments such as rabies vaccination and other vaccination records.
- Valid original official health certificate from the exporting country: This document is needed to show the authorities that your pet has been examined and has a clean bill of health.
- Original certificate for Rabies Serum Neutralization test (RSNT): All pets entering the UAE need to show proof that they are free from Rabies. Certain countries listed on the MOACCAE are considered rabies-controlled. However, if you bring your pet from a country that isn’t listed as rabies-controlled or rabies-free, ensure the test is conducted on your pet 90 days before travel.
- The minimum titer (laboratory test that measures the level of antibodies in the blood) of 0.5IU/ml must be obtained to bring your pet to Dubai.

HIRING PROFESSIONAL RELOCATION SERVICES
Consider hiring a pet relocation service in Dubai to ensure your dog or cat arrives safely. They will handle everything, from obtaining the permits to scheduling flights for your pets and getting the necessary documents.

Hi All, I Need an urgent help regarding relocation of my pet dog from India to Abu Dhabi.
My dog Bruno is an Indian street dog(mixed breed). He is 2.5 yrs old.I ll be shifting to Abu Dhabi from India in a few months and m not too sure if Indian street dogs are allowed to relocate to Abu Dhabi, also he has limp in hind leg from a past injury but is fit to travel according to his vet, will that be a problem?
Please share any kind of information that u guys might have coz I really want to bring him along.
Hey Nikita, thanks for reaching out to us. If you’re bringing Bruno to Dubai, he will have to pass all the necessary requirements which are under the UAE pet import law. If passes the necessary tests and isn’t a mix of the prohibited breeds in the UAE, then bringing him should not be a problem. However, to be on the safer side, we recommend you contact The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), they would be able to advise you accurately on your pet’s situation. Good luck!
