Super apps are applications that offer a wide range of services and payments that make life easier. One such financial super app in the UAE is e& Money by Etisalat, a digital wallet app. It offers several services, including local and international payment. You can even pay DEWA using Etisalat, using two of their services—the e& money app and Etisalat Smart Payment Machines.
Are you curious about how you can use this machine’s quick pay feature to pay your DEWA bill? Keep reading as we walk you through the process.
What is the e& money app?
The e& money app is not the same as the e& app (or the Etisalat app), although they may look similar to each other at first glance. The e& app is solely for managing your Etisalat account, including data and calls and accessing your packages. The e& money app, on the other hand, offers services for a range of other entities (including Etisalat, of course).
e& Money is a digital wallet app licenced by the Central Bank of the UAE. The services available on this app are as follows:
- International money transfers
- Local money transfers
- Bill payments for DEWA, Etihad Water and Electricity, ADDC, AADC, Lootah Gas, Ajman Sewerage, SERGAS and Etisalat eLife
- Mobile postpaid and recharge for du and Etisalat accounts
- Top-up services for Salik, Nol cards, mParking, Mawaqif and Dubai Police
- Gifting services, for gifting either gift cards or cash gifts
Now, let’s look at how to pay DEWA using Etisalat in Dubai, with the e&Money app.
How to pay DEWA using Etisalat e& Money
Paying DEWA bills using Etisalat (Quick Pay) in Dubai, with the e& money app, is super quick. All you need to do is keep your QuickPay number ready – which is basically your DEWA Account Number. You can find this number in any of your previous DEWA bills.
Before you begin paying DEWA with e& Money, you have to set up your account and payment method on the app.
Here’s how you create your account on e& Money:
- Once you open the app, you will be prompted to type in your UAE mobile number. You will receive an OTP to this number
- Create a 4-digit pin
- Type in your email address, where you will be receiving notifications about your transactions on e& Money
And that’s all! You now have your e& Money set! Once you log in, you will be prompted to link your Etisalat account. If you have one, it will sync with your UAE Pass account. If not, you will be prompted to take a picture of your Emirates ID and a selfie to verify your identity.
Now, let’s look at how you can pay DEWA using Etisalat with e& Money:
- Login to e& Money with your 4-digit PIN.
- Select ‘Bills & Top Ups’ under ‘Browse Services.’
- Select ‘Home Utilities.’
- Select DEWA.
- Your owed bill amount will pop up in the centre of the screen. Select the arrow key and hit ‘Pay AED 123.’
- If you’ve added your credit or debit card on e& Money (or on the Etisalat app), you can select this card and continue to payments. Alternatively, if you prefer using Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay, you can choose that.
- Continue with your payment. If your card requires an OTP verification, you will need to type it in, after which the bill will be paid.
- That’s all! You will receive an SMS and email notification from DEWA about your bill being paid.
If you have just created an account on e& Money, we recommend closing and opening the app so that your DEWA bill’s amount shows up. If it still displays AED 0, we would recommend waiting a bit before you pay DEWA using Quick Pay in Dubai.

Another way to pay DEWA using Etisalat is using their Smart Payment Machines. Located in various spots in the UAE, these smart payment machines offer payment services similar to the e& money app. These machines are quite popular for their ability to dispense new SIM cards.
