All about Naif Souk in Dubai
Located in one of the busiest residential and commercial districts in Dubai, Naif Souk is a vibrant marketplace bustling with retail activity. This traditional market is one of the oldest souqs in Dubai that underwent several rounds of renovations over the years to attain the beautiful arabesque façade it has today. For bargain hunters who love to haggle and get a good price for their purchases, Souq Naif is an absolute haven.
ABOUT NAIF SOUK
Traditional souks in Dubai form an important part of Arabic culture. Most of these bustling market places are located in the old Dubai area. Souk Naif is no different. Located in Deira Dubai, Naif Souk was once a camel marketplace, which was later turned into a retail hub for textile, leather, electronics and other products.
The souk underwent extensive renovation during the 1980s, to facilitate the increased number of shoppers. In the year 2008, an unfortunate fire incident devastated most of the shops in Naif Souk Dubai. The market place was then reconstructed by the Dubai Municipality to be bigger and better than before.
Today, with around 200 shops selling a variety of products, the Naif Souq market resembles more of a mall than a traditional marketplace in Dubai. This is a great place to shop if you’re looking for bargain buys and affordable products that do not burn a hole in your pockets.
