Now that the summer weather is at an all-time high, water-based attractions are the top go-to destinations for enjoying the great outdoors in Abu Dhabi. And amongst such attractions, Murjan Splash Park in Abu Dhabi deserves special mention. Located in Khalifa Park —one of the city’s many popular leisure destinations —Murjan Splash Park has proven to be a favourite hangout for families looking to cool off in the blistering heat and have fun while doing it. Attractions in Murjan Splash Park
Compared to Yas Waterworld and other water-based parks of the type, Murjan Splash Park features rides that are on the tamer side. In other words, they are perfect for families with small kids. In addition to shallow pools, the park also features a host of other attractions and perks, enjoyable for kids and adults alike. For a better idea of what to expect, here is an overview of each:
Main Play Structure
Families often make a bee-line for this area when they enter the park. Built on top of a shallow pool, the main play structure features a crawl tunnel, water umbrella, a water wheel, water guns tipping buckets, showers and 4 small waterslides.
Water Wars
Aptly named, this is probably the only area where kids can douse their parents with water balloons and get away with it. A balloon-fill station allows participants to fill water balloons and carry them in buckets to two launching stations facing each other. The area allows water battles for up to 4 people —a perfect activity for small families to enjoy.
Lazy River Rides
The 257 metres and 0.6 foot deep “lazy river” winds all the way at the back of the park. Here, riders can relax in a tube as they make their way around the various turns and twists at Murjan Splash Park.
Surf Wrangler
Hone your kid’s balancing skills by giving them a crack at the Surf Wrangler. Only kids aged 11 and above are allowed on this ride. Featuring a mechanical surfboard, this ride is controlled by an attendant who can slow down and speed up the board by gauging the rider’s skills. The board is perched on top of a soft landing area. Rest assured your kids will have a soft place to land on if they can’t manage to hold on.
Bumper Boats
Way less extreme than regular bumper cars, these are battery-powered boats specifically made for small kids to fit in comfortably. The area itself has a small pool of water where kids can play sailor as they lightly bump into each other.
Birthday Arrangements
In addition to a range of attractions, Murjan Splash Parks also hosts birthdays. Services are available in an impressive variety of themes that take their cue from popular kid shows and movies. Arrangements are colour coordinated according to chosen themes like a blue, pink and purple theme from the movie Frozen. All in all, the park is a great option for celebrating extra special events, like a kid’s first birthday.

Birthday Packages
Pricing packages for celebratory events at the waterpark differ in terms of the number of guests. Here is an overview of Murjan Splash Park offers 2019:
- Package A for 10 kids: AED 2,000
- Package B for 20 kids: AED 3,600
- Package C for 30 kids: AED 4,800
- Package D for 40 kids: AED 6,000
Keep in mind, the park doesn’t accept cards or cheques. Additionally, the party area can only be reserved for 3 hours at Murjan Splash Park. All in all, a Murjan Splash Park birthday party is truly one to be remembered.
Murjan Splash Park Entry Fee and Timing
Entry fee at the waterpark is pretty fair — the price of Murjan Splash Park tickets is AED 50 per visitor. And the best part is that visitors below 75 centimetres are allowed free entry, which is great especially if there are several small kids in your party. Murjan Splash Park timings are as follows:
- Murjan Splash Park opening hours: 03:00 pm to 11:00 pm
- Office hours: 05:00 pm to 11:00 pm
- Murjan Splash Park location: Al Salam Street, Khalifa Park – Abu Dhabi
While the time ends at 11:00 pm, the park closes rides by 10:00 pm. To avoid any hassle, we recommend coming in early.
Murjan isn’t comparable to larger parks like Yas Waterworld in which rides are designed on a different scale and are for a different crowd. However, considering the price you have to pay, Murjan Splash Park offers great value for money.
Park Rules
Murjan Splash Park deals are pretty convenient for families. But it won’t do to forget the rules. In addition to regulations regarding park fees, guests are expected to keep the following rules in mind:
- Fighting and use of abusive language isn’t allowed
- Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by adults
- Appropriate swimwear must be worn
- No street clothing is allowed in the waterpark
- Diapers worn by children must be waterproof, available at the park store
- No outside beverages or food are allowed inside the park
- No diving or running
- Guests must wait for their turns when in queue
- Smoking isn’t allowed at the park
Any guest or guests caught violating the rules might be asked to leave the premises. For added security, guests are recommended to store valuables in rental lockers. The management doesn’t take responsibility for any lost or stolen items.
A great option for a family water park in Abu Dhabi, Murjan Water Park also hosts a range of family-friendly events throughout the year. For example, plans are underway for celebrating Halloween. Additionally, starting this August the park also re-introduced Ladies Day for every Wednesday —a day when men, asides from boys aged 10 and below, are prohibited from entering the park.
