ABOUT MUD HOUSE STUDIO DUBAI
Located in Al Quoz, the Mud House Studio is a 5,500 sq. ft. space divided into two sections. One area is exclusive for handcrafting, while the other area (Potter’s Only) is dedicated to pottery. Aside from these areas, a small boutique offers glazes, clay and tools.
The studio is a great initiative to help people transform creative ideas into stunning reality.

HAND BUILDING
Want to learn the age-old method of pottery? Enrol in Mud House Studio’s hand-building class to acquire enlightening new skills. From coiling to slump moulding, this class will teach you various techniques you can utilise on exciting projects in the future.
WHEEL THROWING
Join the wheel throwing class to learn how to shape round ceramics on the pottery wheel. This class will help you understand each process step from wedging to trimming.

BOOK A KILN
Clay artists and potters at home who need a kiln can use the facilities at the Mud House Studio. Being a “cone 6” studio, a staff member will carefully assess and approve any materials intended for use.

Wheel Throwing For Beginners
This workshop comprises 6 sessions and is spread across 3 weeks. On the first day, learn clay preparation and centring with the Bull’s/ Ram’s head” method to prepare clay for throwing.
The second day’s session will include learning how to open the clay mound, create a base and pull up walls effectively to form a cyclinder-shaped base.
Day three is dedicated to blindfold throwing. This exercise helps to focus on the material with sensory deprivation. Sense of touch will be your primary tool for this session.
Forming techniques are reserved for day four where you’ll learn to make cylinders and convert them into different shapes. This class is followed by trimming finishing and attachments. Lastly, on day six, learn glazing with bisque firing.

INTERMEDIATE WHEEL THROWING
With six sessions in three weeks learn the different aspects of pottery and create bowls and plates. Here’s what to expect from this workshop.
- Day 1- Soup Bowls

- Day 4 – Lunch Plate & Dinner Plate

HAND BUILDING FOR BEGINNERS
This workshop is perfect for wobbly beginners. They get to learn to create clay slabs and then work their way up to add more techniques. The program includes:
- Day 1 – Clay Slabs
- Day 2 – Pinching
- Day 3 – Coiling
- Day 4 – Final Form
- Price: AED 800
All three workshops’ price includes tools, an apron and unlimited clay.
THE MUD HOUSE STUDIO MEMBERSHIPS
DAY PASS AND WEEKLY MEMBERSHIP
Unlimited recycled clay and tools are included with additional firing charges based on size and number of pieces. Glazer charges are not included in the price.

MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP CHARGES
The 1-month membership package includes 1 bag of clay, whereas the 2-month membership has 2 bags of clay. Both membership packages include unlimited firing with additional charges for glazers. The package includes banding wheels, bats, water bowls, and wareboards. Members can purchase other tools from the Mud House Studio. You can purchase other tools from art and crafts shops in Dubai.

These membership packages also include 40 litres of kiln space per month and dedicated shelf space.
