The golden city is all set to welcome one of the world’s leading film festivals, META Film Fest Dubai. Movie buffs will enjoy three non-stop days of cinematic diamonds, with the latest blockbusters playing alongside independent, local and regional productions. Attendees will get the chance to meet and mingle with their favourite stars and filmmakers who are scheduled to appear on the red-carpet and at after parties. A closing party and awards ceremony will conclude the jam-packed festival.
OVERVIEW
Dubai is a melting pot of cultures with more than 200 nationalities calling the emirate home, making it the ideal host for META Film Fest 2022 – a perfect platform to showcase a series of independent, regional and local productions. META Cinema Forum, a leading cinema convention for the Middle East and Africa, launched the festival in collaboration with VOX Cinemas, one of the leading cinema chains in the UAE.
Expect a star-studded red carpet event where you can spot your favourite star, followed by after parties and meet greet for the audience, stars and filmmakers.

FILM FUND
This feature of the META Film Fest Dubai is for the local artists. If you have a gripping content idea and have been waiting for the right opportunity then this might be your chance. The Film Fund will pick two pre-production content ideas including a documentary and a full feature film submitted by regional talent.
The chosen film and documentary will be distributed and marketed globally. And next year, the winners will get to appear on the red-carpet for the official screening of their production. Exciting eh…? It’s time to bring out your mood boards and get started on those ideas! META Film Fest Dubai is fully committed to discovering regional talent.

SUBMIT A FILM
Dubai’s Meta Film Festival 2022 is accepting films and pre-production content from all around the world. The Selection Committee will review the submitted content. The nominated films will be screened at the fest. And if your film is not selected for screening, worry not! It will automatically be submitted to showcase at the META Content Market. This will run in parallel to the META Cinema Forum at Atlantis The Palm Hotel.
The films featured at the META Film Fest will also be shortlisted for accolades at the festival’s star-studded awards ceremony.
RULES AND TERMS OF SUBMISSION
Here are the rules for submitting content:
- Movies can be submitted in any language but it must be subtitled in English
- Movies from all genres can be submitted
- Full feature film entries should have a length up to 120″
- Short film should have a length of up to 50”
- The length of documentary should be up to 110”
ATTEND THE FESTIVAL
To attend the festival as an audience member, you’ll need to register on the festival’s website. The movie tickets and festival passes (with access to after parties and celebrity meet and greet) will go on sale on 1st October 2022. The management will contact you as soon as the tickets and passes roll out.
FESTIVAL SELECTION COMMITTEE AND JURY
The selection committee of META Film Fest Dubai comprises of six members. Each of them specialises in their respective fields of filmmaking. The same goes for the jury of the festival who are also a team of six.
