ABU DHABI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Abu Dhabi International Airport, also known as the AUH airport, is the second-largest of the UAE airports. Inaugurated in 1982, it serves as a base for 50 airlines flying to over 102 destinations. In 2023, the Midfield Terminal or Terminal A opened up. In 2016, the international airport in Abu Dhabi won the ‘Airport of the Year’ award in the 10-30 million category at the Air Transport News Awards.
Please remember that the Abu Dhabi International Airport will be rebranded as Zayed International Airport in February 2024.

ABU DHABI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TERMINALS
Owned by the Abu Dhabi government, Abu Dhabi International Airport has three terminals. A new terminal opened in 2023, with two old terminals shutting down and one used as a standby facility.
ABU DHABI AIRPORT TERMINAL A
This newly opened Midfield Terminal can accommodate more than 11,000 passengers per hour and almost 45 million passengers annually. Retail outlets, restaurants, cafes, hospitality lounges and a transit hotel are operational at the facility. Passengers can benefit from the latest technologies, such as facial recognition, an extensive baggage handling system and a Smart Travel System.
ABU DHABI AIRPORT TERMINAL 1 – T1
T1, the oldest terminal, has three levels. The ground level has an arrivals area with passport control, baggage and departure areas, and security check and check-in counters.
This terminal is no longer in use.
ABU DHABI AIRPORT TERMINAL 2 – T2
Terminal 2 is the smallest of the three AUH airport terminals. You will find arrivals and departures areas on the same level. Terminal 2 is also not in use.
ABU DHABI AIRPORT TERMINAL 3 – T3
T3 is an extension of Terminal 1, designed to facilitate Etihad Airways passengers. It features Departure Gates 28-35 and 58-61 and is now a standby facility.

DUBAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TERMINAL 1 (T1)
T1 is limited to international flights and accommodates over 20 million passengers annually. The relatively new extension Concourse D has allowed 60 international airlines to operate at the airport. The terminal has a passenger train for a stress-free commute to and from the gate.
Level 1 of the T1 caters to departures; Level 2 handles arrivals, and Level 3 is dedicated to services and concessions.

SHARJAH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
One of the most interesting facts about the Sharjah International Airport is that it has the largest runway in the region, measuring 4,060 m. The airport has an open sky policy, which means airlines worldwide have access to the airport. Located 10 km from Sharjah City Centre, it is a 20-minute drive from the Dubai International Airport.

AL AIN AIRPORT
Al Ain International Airport is one of the smaller international airports in the UAE located towards the northwest of Al Ain. The airport has a 4,000-metre runway and a parallel 4,000-metre taxiway that can be used if required. Further advancements will soon occur, such as expanding the cargo terminal and departure lounge, improving CCTV coverage and upgrading software.
AL BATEEN EXECUTIVE AIRPORT
European Business Aviation News named Al Bateen Executive Airport the “Second Best Executive Airport in the World” in 2013. Interestingly, no other regional airport has three ISO and OHSAS certifications.
Enjoying a central location, Al Bateen Airport has a standard capacity for 30 private jets with short taxi times. You can reach Dubai in less than an hour. So, if you want to charter a private plane, this could be a preferred choice amongst all other airports in the UAE.
