PROCESS OF RENEWAL OF INDIAN PASSPORT IN DUBAI
To cater to the large number of expats residing in Dubai, the Indian government has hired the services of BLS International Service Centre for visa and passport related matters. The organisation collects the fees, documents and application for passport and visa services, whereas the processing is done by the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General of India in Dubai.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
The first step is to book an online appointment for Indian passport renewal in Dubai. Firstly, you would need to create an account on Passport Seva website. When you visit the website, you will be asked to select region and country of residence, which in your case would be “Africa and Middle East” and “United Arab Emirates”. Next you need to create an account or sign in if you have previously made one.
To create your account, some personal details such as name, DOB and citizenship will be required. After account creation, you need to submit Indian passport renewal in Dubai application form. You have the option to choose between normal or urgent (tatkal) service and 36 or 60-page passports.
To submit the form, you have to enter some personal details such as home address, marital status, details of emergency contact, details of family member, employment status, academic qualification and more.
The application also includes some other queries, such as
- Details of any prior criminal proceedings against the individual
- Details of prior convictions by an Indian court
- Previous denial or refusal to issue passport
- Details about previous application or granted foreign citizenship
- Previous travel to India on an emergency certificate

BLS CENTRE APPOINTMENT
Online appointment for Indian passport renewal in Dubai has to be booked via the BLS International Service website. The appointment is for submission of document and application at one of their centres. You cannot opt for Indian passport renewal online currently.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR INDIAN PASSPORT RENEWAL IN DUBAI
The documents required for Indian passport renewal in Dubai are as follows:
- Current original passport
- Photocopy of the UAE Residence visa page
- Two passport-size photos (51mm X 51mm with white background)
You can also take a picture taken at the BLS Centre at the starting cost of AED 30.
Other documents such as expired UAE residence visa, valid proof of residency (such as a tenancy contract) or a letter from the employer/company confirming your employment/residential status may be need.
In case you need to update some details on your passport such as home address, police verification could be required. In some cases, based on need, pre-police verification could be converted to post-police verification.

For minors, there are some additional documents required:
- Original passport of the applicant
- Copy of UAE Residence visa page
- Original passports of both parents
- Emirates ID of both parents

RENEWAL PROCESS
On the day of the appointment, you need to submit documents to the submission officer and pay the fees. Remember that Indian passport renewal fees in Dubai has to be paid in cash. Another important detail to note is that the application form has to be signed in front of the submission officer.
PREMIUM SERVICE
Residents of Dubai have the option to opt for premium service. RENEWED INDIAN PASSPORT DELIVERY VIA COURIER

The passport is delivered to the applicant’s home address and one can track their application via BLS Centre’s website. If the passport is not delivered, it is returned to BLS – Al Khaleej Center (Dubai).
