PET REGISTRATION PROCESS IN DUBAI
Here are the steps involved in Dubai pet registration:
- Gather your pet’s vaccination card/report and other medical documents.
- Visit any veterinary clinic, hospital or Dubai Municipality’s Veterinary Services to get your pet microchipped (only once). Once your pet is successfully microchipped, it’s essential to get yearly vaccinations, including rabies and other vaccines.
Ensure that you’re going to a clinic or Veterinary hospital registered with Dubai Municipality. If you plan on registering with Dubai Municipality directly, the steps are as follows:
- Visit the Dubai Municipality website. Click on Services > Individual Services. Select ‘Animal Health and Welfare’ from the left menu and click on ‘Pet Registration‘.
- Click on Apply Now on the top left. You will have to log in using your UAE Pass or Dubai Municipality account.

- You will then have to take your pets to the Dubai Municipality – Al Khawaneej Veterinary Clinic Center to be registered and numbered.
- Pay the fees at the clinic.
- The pet’s information is uploaded to Dubai Municipality’s database and linked to the owner’s Emirates ID and address information. You will receive a record of the number of animals and their identification numbers, as well as their vaccination records if it’s not available.
- You’ll get an ID tag that you can attach to the pet’s collar. Make sure that the tag is visible at all times.
- Pet registration has to be updated on an annual basis.
WHAT ARE THE PET REGISTRATION COSTS IN DUBAI?
Dubai Municipality pet registration fee is as follows:
- Animal Registration – Dogs and cats: AED 10
- Animal Numbering – Dogs and cats: AED 50 per microchip
- Knowledge and innovation: AED 20 for each service exceeding AED 50
- VAT: 5%
