How to pay for parking in Dubai with a RAK plate
The inter-emirate commute is fairly common in the UAE, thanks to the well-maintained highway network connecting the seven emirates. You can drive and reach your destination in another city quickly and safely at your convenience. As the hub of activities and events, Dubai sees many visitors from other emirates. However, regardless of the emirate you drive from, you must pay the parking fee. Here’s how you can pay for parking in Dubai with a RAK plate.
PAY PARKING IN DUBAI WITH A RAK PLATE
If you visit Dubai with a RAK car plate, there are multiple options to pay your parking fee. One of the most important things to remember is the emirate code. For Ras Al Khaimah, it is RAK.
Emirate | Code |
---|---|
Emirate Abu Dhabi | Code AUH |
Emirate Sharjah | Code SHJ |
Emirate Ajman | Code AJM |
Emirate Ras Al Khaimah | Code RAK |
Emirate Umm Al Quwain | Code UAQ |
Emirate Fujairah | Code FUJ |
MPARKING
When visiting Dubai with your RAK plate car, you can simply pay via RTA’s mParking. This service allows motorists to pay parking fees using their Etisalat and Du mobile phones. You don’t need to use the Payment Display Machines.
To pay for parking in Dubai with a RAK plate, you can simply send an SMS to 7275 (Park) in a particular format.
The SMS format is Emirate/Country code, then the plate code <> plate no. <> area no. <> and duration in hours.
For Ras Al Khaimah registered vehicles, RAK is the Emirate code. Once you have sent the message, a confirmation response for parking fee payment will be sent to your number soon. It will include your virtual ticket details. Please don’t delete this message from your phone.
If you don’t receive an SMS within five minutes, you can call the customer service executives on 800-9090 for confirmation or use an alternative method.
The service also sends an alert SMS 10 minutes before the expiry of your virtual permit. Extending the parking period is possible by responding with Y (yes).
You must have a sufficient balance in your mobile account (in case of pre-paid) to pay the parking fees in Dubai. Along with the parking fee, you will also have to pay an additional 30 fils as a service charge.
RTA APPLICATION
Another way to pay for parking in Dubai for your RAK car is via your mobile. The RTA app allows you to pay parking fees in Dubai. The payment is charged to your phone bill or deducted from your prepaid balance. Download the app, register your vehicle and follow the instructions to pay the parking fees.
PAYMENT DISPLAY MACHINES
The good old way of paying at the Payment Display (P/D) Machines is still popular in Dubai. You can find these machines in parking lots, and you can make the payment for as long as you intend to park your vehicle. You have to, however, carry the cash amount to pay here.
