PANEL DISCUSSIONS ON ACHIEVING SUCCESS IN UAE REAL ESTATE
The panel discussion kicked off with our guests sharing insights into their first jobs in real estate, the challenges they faced during the initial phases and their motivation and dedication to overcome these.
Discussing his start in the real estate industry, Firas Al Msaddi said, ”When I stepped into the office, I just looked at the people around me … who seemed to have a good life. So I thought if these guys could do it, I’m not going to be intimidated and overwhelmed by being a part of an industry I knew nothing about.”
Zeina Khoury also shared her perspective on the challenges and rewards of proving your worth in the property industry.
‘People think it’s such a glamorous, fabulous industry … but everyone that has actually made in the industry didn’t make it easily.’
Our panellists also shared more about their first real estate deals, how they managed to close it and the type of property they sold. Talking about his first deal, Simon Baker mentioned that there were different regulations back then, with transfers happening mostly via emails.
When asked about challenging moments in the initial stage of their career, the panellists discussed how to effectively deal with failure and use that experience as motivation to improve and enhance your skills.
”If any sale falls through, it’s painful, but you have to move on. The best agents are the ones that can go from failure to failure as quickly as possible,” said Simon.
EXPERT TIPS FOR ESTABLISHING A BUSINESS IN THE UAE REAL ESTATE MARKET
In the next segment of the webinar, Simon offered some valuable tips for agents and brokers looking to establish their own real estate business in the UAE:
- Be prepared to handle all aspects of the business in the initial stages
- Have a long-term plan but don’t expect success overnight
- Know that you may not earn a lot of money in the beginning
THE EVOLUTION OF THE UAE REAL ESTATE MARKET
Our panellists also shed light on how the UAE real estate sector has evolved since they entered the industry. Now, there are more regulations in place that enhance the UAE’s property sector, as well as companies that offer structured training programmes for new real estate agents.
Highlighting the perks of joining such a company, Firas said, ”When you join a well-organised company, you’ll be able to learn a lot quickly and hence transact, execute and bring results a lot faster.”
Zeina also agreed that the UAE property market has matured and progressed over the years. Now, clients are also more educated about real estate matters, allowing them to make well-informed choices.
”They [clients] know what they want, which makes it easier for reputable real estate companies that are dealing with these clients,‘‘ she said.
Zeina also commented on the innovative tools that are now available in the UAE property market. She also lauded Bayut and dubizzle for facilitating the learning and success of UAE real estate agents.
THE ROLE OF BAYUT AND DUBIZZLE IN THE GROWTH OF REAL ESTATE AGENCIES
During the next part of the webinar, our panellists recognised and appreciated Bayut’s efforts to elevate the standards of the real estate industry and help agencies gain more leads.
Firas, in particular, acknowledged that the leads fäm Properties has received from Bayut are improving month-on-month.
“We pride ourselves to have this partnership with Bayut,” said Firas.
THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN REAL ESTATE
Towards the end of the webinar, our panellists also touched on the importance of a strong social media presence for real estate agents. They elaborated that it can add credibility to your brand and inspire other people to pursue careers in real estate, too.
“There’s no doubt, it [social media] helps with recruitment, it helps with branding and exposure for the company,” says Simon.
BAYUT FUN TRIVIA
Finally, the panellists participated in a fun trivia session, based on the stories and experiences they shared during the webinar. The questions ranged from their first jobs to their favourite weekend activities.
That concludes the highlights of our eleventh webinar episode! We hope you have gained valuable insights from these real estate success stories in the UAE.
