FOUNDER’S MEMORIAL

Also called the Sheikh Zayed Memorial Abu Dhabi, this landmark was built to commemorate the life and the legacy of the late H.H Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Founder’s Memorial UAE was established to help the new generation have a deeper understanding of the influence of the great leader and founding father of the UAE.
Constellation is the main attraction at the Founder’s Memorial. Ralph Helmick, an internationally acclaimed artist, built the 30-metre high, three-dimensional portrait of the late H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Free guided tours are available every day from 09:00 am to 10:00 pm.

WOMEN’S HANDICRAFT CENTRE
Run by the Abu Dhabi Women’s Association, the Women’s Handicraft Centre offers visitors an opportunity to really explore Emirati arts and crafts. This centre is located in Al-Mushrif inside the Women’s Union Complex, with the artwork on display solely created by women.
Here, you can find Arabian oils, souvenirs, incense, clothing, silver embroidery and weaving. There’s a store located here if you want to purchase any of the handicrafts. For some extra fun, you can get a henna tattoo drawn on your hand. A henna design typically lasts around two weeks and can be such a cute look to sport.
