The place is great for families, outdoor buffs and culture enthusiasts looking for a short winter getaway from the hustle-bustle of Dubai. With a slew of options, right from pitching your own tent to relaxing in some of the best trailer hotels in the UAE, Hatta camping is an experience, regardless of the degree of comfort you want to opt for.
Before going for camping in Hatta, make sure to bring a valid UAE residence with you. If you’re not sure about its validity, here is how you can check visa status in the UAE.
Why Go Camping in Hatta, Dubai?
The simple answer to this would be: because there is no place like the mountains. But picture this – you driving away from the madness of city life, a peaceful road trip through the suburbs, soaking in the serene landscapes and then spending a night under the stars. It doesn’t get any more excitingly authentic than this.
So, with the winter season approaching, if you’re thinking of pitching a tent or parking your caravan in the Hatta camping area, here’s all that you need to know.
Hatta Camping Grounds
The camping grounds in Hatta enjoy a glorious setting in the national park area. Surrounded by the mountains, Hatta Camping Grounds bring you a mix of fun, adventure and nature’s splendour. There are two ways you can choose to camp in Hatta.
Pitch Your Tents
If you’re a fan of old-school camping, pack your camping gear and head off to Hatta. You can pitch your tents in one of the designated Hatta camping spots. Each camping spot comes with car parking where your vehicle can cool down while you prepare for a fun night. Alternatively, you can explore the area and find a camping spot of your liking, away from the crowd for a quiet night in – the closer to the mountains, the better it is.
Bring in the Trailer Vans
Trailers work best when you’re with small kids or if a camping tent isn’t your idea of an adventure. Compared to a tent, it’s easier to set-up and definitely more comfortable. Plus you can save all that camping gear space to store an extra blanket or more food, or perhaps a projector and a screen for a camp-night movie. Park it up in the Hatta trailer camp and prepare for an unforgettable experience.
Claim your space, grill some fresh barbecue in the barbecue area, light up a bonfire and enjoy the night watching the stars, singing songs or eating s’mores.
Hatta Campsite Facilities
The Hatta Camping Grounds provide a comprehensive range of facilities to all campers. While you’re pitched for the night and/or weekend at Hatta, the following amenities are at your disposal.
- Free on-site parking (allocated to all campers)
- Well-equipped separate barbecue areas for all Hatta camping sites
- Round-the-clock security
- On-site showers and washroom facilities

- Hatta Wadi Hub (activity centre)
- Wi-Fi access in Wadi Hub
- Food trucks at Wadi Hub
