Motor car enthusiasts are in for a treat as the biggest supercar road rally in the world is making its way to the City of Gold. A-list drivers from across the globe will compete for the top prize. The highly-anticipated route for Gumball 3000 ‘The Middle East’ 2022 will be spectacular, something definitely not to be missed! Here’s everything you need to know.
ABOUT GUMBALL 3000
Gumball 3000 was founded back in 1999 by Maximillion Cooper, a British entrepreneur and race car driver. The international car rally has covered every continent and taken its entrants on the journey of a lifetime. Only the very best supercars are equipped to participate in this truly epic test of metal!
With luxurious stopovers, the rallies cover public roads daily and exclusive parties at night. Some of the celebrity drivers who have participated in the mega rally include Tinie Tempah, Usher, David Hasselhoff, Snoop Dogg and Lewis Hamilton.
New routes are covered each year, adding excitement to the famed event. And the 23rd Annual Gumball 3000 Rally will be held in the Middle East for the very first time!
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM GUMBALL 3000 IN DUBAI?
The City of Gold will welcome Gumball 3000 in style from the 12th to the 13th of November 2022. Before racers fire up their engines and head on an epic adventure across the desert in Dubai, there’ll be a free live concert for fans at Burj Park, with well-known DJs spinning the decks.
Spectators will also get to browse an incredible grid display comprising 100 unique cars on the first day. The automobile rally will feature diverse freestyle talent from different countries — all in an upbeat environment unlike any other!
On the second day, the Gumball Flag Drop ceremony will take place and mark the start of the seven-day journey across the region. Gumballers will see the best coastal roads, desert havens and futuristic cities in all their glory. The rally will embark on a circular route through Oman before making its way to Abu Dhabi.
The first location covered will be Jebel Akhdar where participants will drive up mountains and enjoy gorgeous views of Oman. The drivers will stay at a fabulous 5-star resort which can only be accessed by 4x4s. Then the rally will make its way to Salalah before heading along the coast to Muscat. It’s then time to head back to the UAE for a stop in Ras Al Khaimah.
After covering exhilarating checkpoints, the adventure will come to an end at Yas Marina Circuit on November 20, the same day as the finale of the 2022 Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Fans can watch their favourite supercars fight to the finish line at the W Abu Dhabi, one of the best hotels on Yas Island.
