HOW TO GET A FISHING LICENCE IN ABU DHABI?
If you want to fish commercially in Abu Dhabi, you must be registered with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCaE) and have a MoCCaE-registered fishing boat. Here are some things you must remember when applying for a licence.
- You must be at least 18 years old to get a fishing licence.
- If you are going on a fishing excursion with a company, you don’t need to worry as the company taking you will already have a commercial licence that will cover you.
You can apply for two types of fishing licences in Abu Dhabi.

If you are a professional fisherman, you will need a commercial fishing license while if you catch fish based on a Hadhra fishing method, Hadhra fishing license will be suitable for you. If fishing is your hobby or you love catching fish occasionally, opt for a weekly (AED 30) or an annual recreational fishing license (AED 120)
As far as your second question is concerned, if you are a local resident, you will need to submit:
– Passport copy (with residency for non-local)
– Personal photo
– Boat license (for recreational fishing)
However, if you are an expat, you will require the following documents:
