FEBRUARY IS HERE! TIME TO HIT DUBAI PARKS
For most of us living in Dubai, the beach is our top weekend destination, but February is not quite dipping time. In fact, it’s much more suitable for a picnic with the family or exercising against a stunning green backdrop. In keeping up with Bayut’s intention to give you not just a 20/20 vision on UAE real estate but also show you why buying or renting in Dubai is a smart choice, here are a few suggestions for an amazing outdoor time in February.
Al Barsha Pond Park, next to Al Barsha Mall
Everyone who’s ever been in Al Barsha Pond Park knows that it is the definition of loveliness. In the centre of it is a large man-made pond around which the walkers, the joggers, the cyclists and the picnickers orbit around. Open from 8AM-11PM every day, it offers a variety of outdoors activities, such as yoga, tennis, basketball, volleyball and an outdoor gym.
For the little ones, there are playgrounds, swan-shaped pedalos and 4 seater bikes. Finally, the park is a host to the Ripe Market that takes place just after you get through the main entrance every Saturday from 3PM-9PM. The event will occur regularly until 13th of March, with tasty local food, acoustic music and good vibrations all around. Make sure not to miss it!
Timings: 8AM-11PM every day
Entrance: Free

Safa Park, off 2nd interchange, Sheikh Zayed Rd
Safa Park is one of Dubai’s most popular green hangouts, even more so now that the 3.2 KM long walkway, the Dubai Water Canal, has been built in its proximity. So, in addition to enjoying 200 different species of birds and over 16,000 different trees and bushes in this gorgeous park, you can enjoy a stroll down this miraculous new nearby venue or take a boat ride before or after picnicking.
Another great advantage of Safa Park compared to the other parks of Dubai is the existence of The Archive – a unique library and a community space focused on the arts and culture located in the heart of the park. It is the perfect place to read books, picnic, jog, rollerblade, barbeque, practice yoga or rent a bike. We love it!
Timings: 8AM-10PM Sunday-Wednesday; 8AM-11PM Thursday-Saturday
Entrance: 3 Dhs per person

Zabeel Park, Zabeel Area Dubai or the Creek end of SZR
Imagine 45 football fields in one place – that’s how spacious Zabeel Park is (47.5 hectares). Due to its massive size, it is divided into different individual sections. Depending on which section you’re in, you can go on a lake boat ride, indulge in a lavish picnic or barbeque, or go jogging on a 4.3 KM track. For the little ones, there are numerous playgrounds, edutainment centres and the Dubai Garden Glow – a separate park filled with large glow-in-the-dark trees, flowers and animals (kind of like a mini-version of James Cameron’s fantastic world in Avatar).
You can even take a charming train to go on a park tour, although we recommend walking and taking in the fresh air and greenery of thousands of trees. Finally, there’s the Ripe Market taking place every Friday from 9AM-3PM at Gate 2, filled with fresh organic fruit and vegetables, good coffee, ice-cream and many unique products, such as hand-made soap or hand-tailored toys for the little ones. No better way to spend a Friday morning!
Entrance: 5 Dhs per person, but 60 Dhs per person to enter Dubai Garden Glow
Timings: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 08:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and official holidays from 08:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Dubai Miracle Garden, Barsha/Dubailand Area

Flower-covered houses, giant clocks made of flowers, blossoming sculptured peacocks and vintage cars overflowing with colourful petals, it’s like getting to be Alice in Wonderland for only 40 Dhs.
In addition to fantastic garden imagery, you can visit the adjacent Butterfly Garden where you and your family can see thousands of butterflies in one place, or you can pick up some gifts in the nearby Souvenir Shop. Dubai Miracle Garden is one of Dubai’s most memorable experiences!
