Kids Activities in Abu Dhabi for the Whole Family!
Sometimes, it can be difficult to try and figure out how to keep little ones entertained in Abu Dhabi. Luckily, there is an incredible array of activities for kids in Abu Dhabi to keep even the fussiest of toddlers engaged for hours.
Bounce Abu Dhabi
Are you tired of telling the kids to stop jumping on your sofa or on their (just-made) beds? Then Bounce is the play arena for you. The popular trampoline park (which also has a branch in Dubai) is filled with colourful trampolines (over 100 interconnected ones, in fact), airbags, dodgeball courts, slides and slacklines! Every hard surface is protected with a circus-grade sponge, meaning that you can rest easy as the kids run free and try their hand at being acrobats, free-runners and more. What’s even better though is that it’s one of the things to do in Abu Dhabi for kids you can also join in. You know your inner-child will love it!

The Louvre Abu Dhabi
A museum may not seem like the most obvious place to head to with kids, but the fantastic folks at The Louvre Abu Dhabi have created a special section just for little ones to enjoy. Spread across two floors, The Louvre Abu Dhabi Children’s Museum is filled with tactile objects and works of art – conveniently at a child’s eye-level – and regular family-friendly workshops (in both English and Arabic) that seek to engage children with art, artistic techniques and ideas. Kids from the ages of 6 to 12 are catered to here, while parents are more than welcome to come along for the ride. It’s definitely one of the must-try activities for kids in Abu Dhabi that entertains and informs at the same time.

For example, mini-thespians can tread the boards in the Black Box Theatre, marine-wildlife enthusiasts can get hands-on with sea creature at the Touch Tank (where they literally touch the animals as they learn about them), there’s even a computer lab, role-play ‘town’, kinetic exhibits, “Creation Stations”, an indoor water play area, safe play areas for toddlers, a dark sensory room, building zone, a cafe for adults and much more. With the weather already beginning to heat up, Little World has some interesting indoor sports in Abu Dhabi for kids that are definitely worth bookmarking.

The well known Orange Wheels is an edutainment arena with different activity zones covering a range of disciplines from art and craft to roleplay, music and dance – there’s even a kid-friendly gym and of course, the popular – and gigantic – soft play area complete with slides, a trampoline, an obstacle course and more. They even offer regular camps, events and other after-school activities in Abu Dhabi so be sure to follow them on social media to stay in the loop.
For the older kids, Orange Spin is filled with teen-focused games including bowling and laser-tag. It’s the perfect place to pack the kids off to if you fancy a quiet afternoon. Or, perhaps an afternoon’s worth of retail therapy.

Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital
The national bird of the UAE, the falcon is respected and well taken care of in the country – just visit the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital to find out. There is so much more to wandering around a hospital looking at poorly birds, the facility has impressively informative exhibits on the history of falconry, covering topics from heritage to even falcon registration. The guided tour also includes visiting recovering falcons and learning more about how they are treated, a free-flight aviary, the opportunity to have a falcon perch on your hand and of course, plenty of photo opportunities. It’s certainly one of the unique activities for children in Abu Dhabi and something they may not be able to experience in other parts of the world. Visiting the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital is a great day out for anyone interested in Abu Dhabi heritage, and it’s a great family day out, with parents finding as much to enjoy about it as the kids.

Murjan Splash Park
There’s plenty of fantastic public parks in Abu Dhabi, and the ever-popular Murjan Splash Park, based in Khalifa Park, has seven aquatic attractions, delighting children aged 13 an under. One of the most-loved parts of the park is the main water play area, with waterslides, tunnel, water guns, showers and a massive tipping bucket. There is also a mini-surfing pool, bumper-boats (think bumper cars but in water), trampolines and an area just for “Water Balloon Wars”! With the weather heating up, kids are sure to love this fun way to cool down. It’s a great way to incorporate some outdoor activities for kids even in summer months when things can get quite hot and sweaty.
