When ‘The World’s Greatest Show’ – Expo 2020 in Dubai came to a close, the question on everyone’s mind was: what would happen to the Expo site? Well, there was always a comprehensive plan in place. The venue was all set to be transformed into a large-scale, human-centric district called Expo City Dubai.

Vision Pavilion
Want to know how Dubai transformed into a modern metropolis? This particular pavilion celebrates the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Check out stunning displays, immersive exhibits and personal stories that highlight the evolution of Dubai over the years.

Women’s Pavilion
As the name implies, this pavilion is all about celebrating the achievements of women and how they have shaped the future.

Stories of the Nation
Expo City Dubai has introduced Stories of Nations Exhibitions, which include exhibits, memorabilia and musical instruments from the 200 nations participating in the Expo 2020 fair.
The displays allow visitors to explore what made Expo 2020 great. Among them are imitations of the swings in the Germany pavilion and a turtle made of plastic bags from Comoros Island. While many iconic objects have returned to their respective countries, more than 80 original items are still on display, including sculptures, artefacts, musical instruments, memorabilia and textiles.

Remember that:
- Entry to Stories of the Nation is free for kids under 12 and people of determination.
- You don’t need to buy separate Stories of Nations tickets (AED 50) for each pavilion. One ticket would suffice.
- You can access all three Stories of Nations exhibitions with the Attractions Pass (AED 120).
Garden in the Sky
Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the city atop “the flying park” or Secret Garden as it takes you up 55 metres into the air. The green tree-lined deck gives the garden a natural look that is a sight to behold.

Around the World
Enjoy a ride on this carousel with your mount of choice. The stunning Italian-made ride is a hit with kids at Expo City Dubai.

Al Wasl Plaza

Expo City Mall
Expo City Mall, housing over 190 shops and F&B outlets, will likely open its doors to the public in 2024. The venue will be a few minutes from the Expo 2020 Metro Station. Those with personal cars can access the mall via Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road, Expo Road and Jebel Ali Road.

RASHID’S ADVENTURES PLAYGROUND

If you’re looking for a fun and adventurous activity for kids, you should check out the Octopus playground outside Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion. It’s got an incredible maze that they can navigate through with ink clouds.

LATIFA AND THE SPACE CITY PLAYGROUND

Buy Expo City Dubai Tickets
As per the Expo City Dubai official website, ticket prices for Terra and Alif start at AED 50 per pavilion. These pavilions are free for kids under 12 and People of Determination. However, they do need to pick up the free passes at any ticketing booth.

Visitors to Expo City Dubai can take advantage of a one-day pass. For AED 120, the pass grants access to the following:

COP 28
The Conference of Parties, or COP, is a yearly meeting organised by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), where countries discuss and negotiate climate policies and agreements. The conference aims to address climate change and work towards global solutions.
Expo City Dubai will proudly host COP 28 in the UAE from 30 November until 12 December 2023. COP28 is a significant milestone for the UAE as it pioneered using renewable energy and meeting its biodiversity conservation targets.

RAMADAN FESTIVAL
Expo City Dubai hosted a “Hai Ramadan” festival from March 3 to April 22, 2023.
WINTER WONDERLAND
Winter City Expo City celebrated Christmas and the New Year. Though it was free to visit, charges did apply for some workshops and activities.
DUBAI FITNESS CHALLENGE
The heart of Expo 2020, Al Wasl Plaza, was the venue for plenty of workout sessions throughout Dubai Fitness Challenge 2022. There were acrobatic gymnastics sessions, cross-fit classes, yoga, cycling events and marathons.
FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR 2022 LIVE SCREENING
Expo City Dubai had dedicated fan zones where football fans could watch their favourite players in action on giant screens.
Dubai Exhibition Centre – A hub for events
