All about the new instalment scheme for traffic fines in Dubai
Motorists can now use the newly introduced zero-interest Dubai traffic fine instalment service to pay off their outstanding penalties. Announced in July 2022 by the Dubai Police, this program will split the entire fine payment into equal instalments and is available for credit card holders of specific banks.

DUBAI FINE INSTALMENT SERVICE
To ease the burden on motorists who have incurred traffic fines, the Dubai Police has announced a more affordable, smart way to pay fines in the UAE. Those who have private vehicles and need to pay one or more fines can do so with an interest-free repayment plan via the UAE banks.
Dubai-based residents with credit cards registered with any of the banks listed below will be able to use the service.

- Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank
- First Abu Dhabi Bank
- Emirates Islamic Bank
- Commercial Bank International
- Dubai Islamic Bank
- Standard Chartered Bank
- Commercial Bank of Dubai
- Finance House
ELIGIBILITY
The offer is valid for any outstanding fines amounting to AED 5,000 or more for individuals. For companies and institutes, the cut-off figure is AED 20,000.
- Please note that the terms and conditions for fine repayments depend on the bank.
- The instalments can be issued for up to 24 months.
- The first instalment starts after 30 days, and the gap between each instalment cannot be more than three months.
- If an individual wants to postpone a particular instalment, a fee of AED 100 would be charged. AED 200 is the fee for companies and institutes. You need to apply for postponement 15 days before the instalment date.
- AED 10 as Knowledge Fee and AED 10 as Innovation Fee would be charged for all transactions.
Those who default on paying instalments will not be allowed to take advantage of the fine instalment scheme for two years, from the default date.

- Visit the Dubai Police website or open the mobile app.
- Select Fines Instalment Service and input the driver’s licence number, traffic file number or vehicle number.
- Next, fill in personal information, including Emirates ID and bank account number.
Once completed, your application is forwarded to the Central Bank, which will approve or reject it. In case of rejection, reasons will be provided.
