Last week in real estate: 29 April – 3 May 2018
This week the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2018 came to a close. The ATM dominated last weeks UAE’s real estate news with announcements from two major developers about their hospitality divisions. Nevertheless, it’s a new week, and there’s never a dull moment in Dubai real estate news, so let’s take a look at the top news stories making headlines in the Dubai real estate market this week.
Azizi Developments makes headway on Meydan Avenue Projects
Leading UAE-based private developer Azizi Developments has awarded Tasmeem Building Contracting LLC (TBCI) contracts worth AED 102M to develop their latest project. Three residential complexes – Azizi Gardens, Azizi Park Avenue, and Azizi Greenfield are to be built alongside existing properties in Meydan Avenue by TBCI – these include a total of 242, 1 and 2-bedroom apartments, featuring a prime community lifestyle, with modern architecture surrounded by landscaped parks, gardens and a waterfront.
Mirwais Azizi, Chairman of Azizi Group, said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of a contractor for our latest Meydan Avenue projects. Azizi Gardens, Azizi Greenfield and Azizi Park Avenue are a true reflection of our commitment to providing the best community living experience and to creating urban neighbourhoods. These projects also have distinctive features that use natural elements as we continue to support Dubai in its commitment to sustainable developments.”
Following the Azizi Riviera project in Meydan One and, Azizi Victoria in MBR City – District 7, the Gardens, Azizi Greenfield and Azizi Park Avenue are Azizi’s third development in the Meydan master development.
$160M beachfront resort on Deira Islands
Dubai’s most prominent property developer, Nakheel Properties, is planning to develop a $160 million resort at Deira Islands, known as Vienna House Deira Beach. The project comes as another cornerstone that paves the way for Dubai’s tourism, entertainment and leisure.
Commenting on the agreement with Vienna House, Nakheel’s Chairman Ali Rashid Lootah said: “Our ongoing strategy is to bring new, highly-reputable hospitality brands and concepts to Dubai as part of our commitment to supporting the government in realising its tourism vision.”
The resort, which is the first Vienna House in the Middle East, will offer a luxurious leisure experience different from any other beach resort in Dubai, the developers say. The initiative of this project has come about thanks to Nakheel Properties’ new partnership with Austria’s largest independent hotel chain, Vienna House.
Rupert Simoner, the CEO of Vienna International Hotelmanagement, added: “Vienna House Deira Beach will offer quality leisure experiences that are designed to offer guests authentic moments and memories.”
The Deira Islands project adds 21km of beachfront to Dubai’s coastline, with new world-class attractions, such as the Deira Mall and Deira Islands Night Souk, two new shopping experiences which will offer visitors the best of Dubai’s retail scene.
new phase at Villanova community
The Villanova community in Dubailand will soon receive a new addition known as Amarante 3. The third phase of the community has plans to develop 300 more, 3 and 4-bedroom townhouses with Spanish-influenced design, surrounded by scenic landscaping. The Villanova community includes facilities and amenities like playgrounds sports facilities, mosques and leisure areas for singles and families alike.
“At Dubai Properties, we believe a home is not the house you buy, it’s the memories you create with your loved ones and the feeling that you’re in the place you cherish the most in the world, the moment you walk through the door. Villanova offers the community with just that, a modern Mediterranean flair amidst one of Dubai’s most serene landscapes,” said Marwan Al Kindi, Executive Director of Sales and Sales Operations at Dubai Properties.
Located at the intersection of the Dubai—Al Ain Road with Emirates Road, the construction of the Amaranta 3 will begin in October of this year, with completion scheduled just a months after the end of Expo 2020.

“We have put in place a robust infrastructure including one of the largest district cooling facilities serving the community, and work on the Town Square Central Park is progressing at a brisk pace. Rawda 2 apartments have a prime place in Town Square, set by the park, with homes opening to green, landscaped vistas, and residents stepping out to a vibrant lifestyle hub,” said Fred Durie CEO of Nshama – the UAE-based real estate developer in charge of the Rawda 2 project.
