Calling all pet parents! The Dubai Pet Festival 2022 is here again and this time it’s bigger and better than ever before. There’s going to be so much to see and do at this paw-some festival, from championship cat and dog shows to a (cuteness-overload alert!) petting farm. Don’t have a pet? No matter! Everyone is welcome at this festival of furry fun. Our guide to the event contains everything you need to know.
ABOUT THE DUBAI PET FESTIVAL
The Dubai Pet Festival is a one-of-a-kind pet event in the Middle East that will take place on 22nd May 2022 in Souk Al Marfa. You can expect plenty of wagging tails and laughter during your visit.
The main purpose of the Dubai Pet Festival 2022 is to educate people about responsible pet ownership and to promote animal welfare.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT DUBAI PET FESTIVAL 2022?
DOG SHOW DUBAI
No matter what type of breed you have, you can register your dog for this competition. Organised in partnership with the Emirates Kennel Club (EKC), this is the highly anticipated contest of the festival!
Dogs will be classified into small, medium and large groups. Judges will choose one winner for each different category. The popular categories include Cute Puppy, Most Popular Dog and Handsome & Beautiful Dogs. Winners will get prizes and medals at the end of the ceremony.

DOG AGILITY COMPETITION
Calling all those super active and agile pups out there! Sign up your furry friend for Dog Agility Competition taking place at Dubai Pet Festival. The competition will include pre-set obstacles that your pet will have to pass through within a certain amount of time. The obstacles may include tires, tunnels and seesaws.
There are two main categories to the competition: Small Dogs and Large Dogs. Then within each of those categories there are two sub-categories: On Lead and Off Lead.
Initially, small (on/off lead) and large (on/off leads) dogs will compete separately in their specific size categories. But once the winners are announced from each of the categories, small dogs will go up against large dogs in an attempt to claim the title.

DOG TRAINING DEMONSTRATIONS
Dog trainers will show the crowd how they train their pups to become good, well-behaved canine citizens. During the demonstration, they will give different directions to their pups, with their feline friends responding to each one of them….religiously.
PET FASHION SHOW
Dubai Pet Festival calls for some glamming time! There will be two pet fashion shows, featuring pets in trendy, sparkly designer dresses, walking on the ramp with models amidst lighting and music.
THE BEST FELINES SHOW
Apart from Pet Fashion Show, The Best Felines Show will also take place to showcase all breeds of cats. There will be three categories at the competition: Long hair, short hair and kitten (male/female aged between three and six months)
Judges will choose the Best Female, Best Male and Best Kitten across categories like Groomed Cat and Most Popular Cat, etc.
Cats will be given trophies, certificates and other prizes towards the end of the competition.

THE PET PARADE
The Pet Parade will feature pet parents parading on the stage with their pets, competing for titles like Pet Diva, Popular Pair Pet and Parent Look-a-Like. There will be 15 prizes up for grabs. No registration is required for this competition.
PET FANCY DRESS COMPETITION
Dress your pets in themed costumes, bring them to the festival and enter the contest. You can register for the competition at the venue. Winning entries will receive prizes and trophies from sponsors.
PETTING FARM
There are many petting zoos in Dubai but this one is specifically made for the festival. Just like other farms, it will include friendly goats, rabbits, birds and tortoises in their natural habitat that you can meet, feed and pet.
ANIMAL WELFARE & ADOPTION
Dubai Pet Festival will also include a few animal welfare groups to give you tips and information about finding suitable pets and taking good care of them.
KIDS PLAY ZONE
The festival will comprise a designated play area for kids. The kids’ zone will include various slides, jumping castles, clowns, games and activities like face painting.
PET PRODUCTS & SERVICES STALLS
A few pet product providers will be present to offer you an array of pet care and grooming products. You can count on pet taxis and mobile grooming vans.
FOOD & BEVERAGE STALLS
Visitors will also be able to grab quick snacks and light bites at the venue. There will be multiple vendors, food trucks and kiosks serving light delights, ice creams and beverages.

Entry to the festival is free.
DUBAI PET FESTIVAL REGISTRATION
You can visit the event with or without a pet. The registration process to enter the festival is as follows:
- Visit the official website of the Dubai Pet Festival.
- Go to the “Visitor Registration” tab.
- Click ”Visitor Confirmation” from the drop-down menu
- Add your name, mobile number, email address and location to the registration form.
- If you have a pet, you also need to add details like their name, type, breed, etc.
- Once, you click register, your entry pass will be sent to you via email.
- Visitors have to show their registration confirmation at the entrance. Make a printout or save the confirmation on your phone.
- Every pet visitor has to undergo a temperament assessment and veterinary check to enter.
If your pet behaves well, it will even receive a badge!
- To meet the festival requirements for registration, your pet must have a valid pet passport and be vaccinated in accordance with UAE law. At the time of entry, you will be required to present both of these documents. Our guide details everything you need to know about bringing pets to Dubai.

- Pets competing in dog shows and cat shows must register separately by clicking the registration buttons under each competition listed on the website. Please note that there will be separate entrances for visitors who have pets and those who do not.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Pets must be registered at the entrance.
- They must undergo Vet Check and show vaccination proof (pet passport/letter from a reputed vet clinic)
- They must wear a ribbon (Red/Yellow/Green) given at the entrance by official vets based on the character assessment of pets.
- Wild animals are not allowed.
- Leashes are permitted at the venue.
- Dogs/cats entering the competitions must register at their respective desks.
- Pet owners must sign an undertaking form at the entrance, accepting responsibility for their feline friends
